Medium deep ruby core with quite thin ruby garnet rim . Quite serious but elegant with red plum , blueberry , dark cherry , with some black pepper and iris , pomegranate tea . On the palate this is quite reserved with fresh , blue fruit , blueberry , blackberry , pomegranate, some granite hints also. Fresh acidity , and fine but grippy tannins, quite intense and vibrant. Pretty reasonable length , with granite , blueberry and herbal tea finish , refreshingly balanced alcohol (though at 12,5% you would hope so.. ), a touch pinched with a hint of bitterness , though I would imagine this will integrate with time and doesn’t detract from the style which is elegant , quite lithe and linear . Young still and the structure does stick out a bit , so I would leave this for a couple more years , and it will likely improve over the next 5 or so , and last well a further 5-10. — 8 months ago

This wine was absolutely amazing and truly showed itself right out of the bottle. Amazing quality price point. Below $100, no decanting and was in full stride. Truly fully illustrated after 40 minutes; Dark luscious black fruit, an ever so slight finish of funky forest floor & an incredible & surprisingly lush well rounded given its age. The oak permeates throughout and is incredibly integrated from front to finish. Impeccable example of a superb Napa 💯 % Cabernet. I'm now regretting only having purchased 12!!! Very young on nose (and needed aeration!). There’s plenty of bright red fruit, licorice and orange and before aeration I also found green apple, yoghurt (MLF?!) as well as a whiff of stable.
Once properly presented; the wine gave off more precise fruits such as cherries, red currants, figs and herbs.
Wine is dry, light and crisp with soft, pleasing tannins. The flavors are deep and finish quite long with some salinity, both things not as expected from the straightforward, young aromas.
Still young. I would really want to try it again in 6-8 years time to see the layering of all the aromas. This wine opened up my eyes for the potential of cinsault!

I've written about this wine before. Ron's wines never cease to amaze me. Uncorked and poured, at 1st glance it seemed extremely closed and unforgiving BUT give it 30 minutes and it blows up!!!! Lush dark fruit, some leather and on the back palate a touch chocolate. This is drinking like a badass rockstar., Big, bold & unapologetic but has a touch of class that seduces you into taking another sip....at which point the roller coaster starts all over again. The grapes for this wine are off a plot on Naramata Main Road. We spotted the sign while visiting Deep Roots. Outstanding wine all around. Bold flavours with citrus, toasty, oakiness and spices. Smooth buttery palate with balanced acidity. Tasted it while visiting and the two owners were pouring. We were very happy to pick up a couple of bottles. — 8 years ago

I've posted this one before but I'll say it again because it's that good: Phenomenal bottle of wine. It's young but crafted so beautifully tat it is able to fire on all cylinders: exquisite nose which yields a promise of enticing blueberry, raspberry & dark fruit (my favorites) along with a layered finish which touches upon your front, mid & back palate. YUM!!!! May I have some more please???? Oh wait., I brought 2 bottles!!! Phew... Thank God!! .good call! 😎😍👏👏😍😎. It's always fun having a personal relationship with the owners and this one doesn't disappoint. Bill & Alicia are simply awesome.
