"Wrong end of the horse." Loamy.

Great barnyard flavors, really well balanced.

Opus One

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1980

Thia bottle was opened at Valette in Healdsburg, CA. Chef Dustin prepared a special matching tasting menu to pair with this beauty. The genius of crafting wine that tastes so good some 37 years after the fact still boggles the mind. Smooth glycerine integration of cedary petrol notes complemented fresh cut camomile flower and ripe cherries - I mean what? How did these youthful notes survive after all these years. Such an incredible wine. — 2 years ago

Le Vin Maghani Saint-Chinian 2014

Killer. Rich in red and black fruit, in herbs and incense spices, rich in body. Good lift from the acid. I wish I had had the patience to let it breathe for longer but it was heady out of the gate. Paired w Live/Dead. — a month ago

Cuvée Selection Ivresses St. Chinian Grenache Blend

Grenache is not my favorite but on the third day I quite enjoyed it better than the first day. Needed meat to show well. — 2 years ago

Domaine Valette

Viré-Clessé Chardonnay 2014

An incredibly complex wine, both on the nose and palate. A dry Chardonnay, having a slightly sulfuric tinge when first opener, fading to a beautiful mix of sous bois, lemon curd, wet stones. The same is mirrored on the palate, but with a dash of cayenne, eucalyptus, and a bit of petrol. Gorgeous and worth the money. — 3 months ago
