My first taste of the 2019 vintage and this was a rather good entry point. New hautes cotes bottling from Cathiard and the Cathiard style shines through. Dark fruit, plush and sweet, silky tannins, nicely balanced with good acid. Easily the best hautes cotes I have had. — 3 years ago
Nice Bourgogne, even 2017 but drinking nicely! — 4 years ago
The 2012 Cathiard Aux Reignots (along with Malconsorts and Petits Monts, my favorite 1er cru Vosne vineyard), is much more masculine and dark fruited than the MG. Really a great side by side. There is some reduction and prevalent new oak, but there is just such depth and structure to this wine and it’s destined to live for the long haul. But unlike how reticent many 12’s can be right now, as the reduction dissipates, it offers a great deal of pleasure. Reignots is really a special vineyard. — 3 years ago

One of the more accessible and expressive 05’s I’ve had in a while, Cathiard’s Vosne-esque Aux Murgers is open and giving wafting perfumed and spice laced dark berry fruit with violets, black tea and damp earth. The palate is pure silk, elegant and seductive, perhaps even belying the burly vintage typicity, with terrific persistence, balanced acids and soft tannins. An 05 that is finally ready to go! Beautiful wine. — 5 months ago
