A little cooler summer evening is calling for a nice and rich red Burgundy for a change. Lovely — 6 years ago

Château Seguin

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

50 % merlot, 50 % cabernet sauvignon. This 2015 Pessac-Léognan might well be the finest value in the whole of Bordeaux. Fresh dark berries intertwined with the typical subtle Pessac-Léognan spiciness. Perfectly balanced, this wine seduces with its purity of fruit and fine-grained tannins. It is profound and very elegant, concentrated but not over-extracted, with perfectly integrated oak and a long deliciously spicy finish. At less than 25 euro this is a steal. — 8 years ago

Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend 2022

I found this 2022 Bordeaux reasonably priced at Trader Joe’s. I thought this was very easy to drink. Very flavorable and smooth going down. I will buy this again! — 8 months ago

Château Haut-Vignoble Seguin

St. Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot 1999

Garnett robe, intense nose of mushrooms, tar, cooked cherries & plum. High tanins and high acidity. Still young somehow. So i poored it in a decanter and... magic happened!
Softer tanins, amazing length. Just perfect!

Forgot to write notes that night but this was nice. Another great example of a lieu dit punching above its weight. — 7 months ago

I kinda feel like if it’s a Gevrey lieu dit, it needs to be punching at least at a 9.2 or it’s punching BELOW its weight! 🤷

@Tom Casagrande quite fair! This one will certainly be there with a few years of age.

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2017

A good Burg and Chambolle for not too much money. But it lacks elegance this is such a cherry bomb it’s overdone. Good though but not the style I expect. — 6 years ago

Cuvée de l'Oncle Paul Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015

Very pleased that this 2015 is drinkable on the last day of 2017. Definitely a good value burgundy. Nice fruit and pine/sage on the nose. Dry and a little earthy. It’s not super complex but for the price of 20-something a bottle I have no regrets. — 9 years ago
