2024 vintage. Excellent Chardonnay, young vintage but shows decent acidity with a crisp light oak finish. — 10 days ago

Léa Sélection Fixin Pinot Noir 2010

2022/5/31-6/1 with ayu karaage, hachiku several ways, niku-dofu, etc. This is my favorite of the lower-priced Léa reds - there’s really nice acidity and flesh, and enough age to be fully open with hints of complexity but still with vibrant fruit. Really good on day 2 as well. — 4 years ago

Le Colombier Sancerre Pinot Noir Rosé 2020

It can be difficult for me to identify the flavors in wine, but the pinot noir in this wine expressed beautiful fruit on the nose and palate, but slightly higher acidity which (to me) clashed ever so slightly with the taste. Don't mistake me though, this wine is excellent and is very well done — 5 years ago

Carneros Rosé of Pinot Noir 2018

For canned Rosé, easily the best I’ve ever had. (To be fair, that wasn’t a very high bar) — 6 years ago

Domaine du Colombier

Crozes-Hermitage White Rhone Blend 2015

Deep brassy-gold. Nose is very interesting: apricot, wet carbon steel, and a sweet umami-like note that slightly conjures anchovy. Deep and extremely low-toned flavors. Very Marsanne in its broad, low-toned notes and almost pungent, slightly bitter mineral finish. Unusual, but it works. — 7 years ago

Hermitage Syrah 2015

Deep ruby/purple/burgundy in colour, dense and well built wine, ready to drink. Solid and well balanced. It took a while to open up, better on the 2nd day. — 2 months ago

Vieilles Vignes Vacqueyras Grenache Mourvédre Blend 2021

Cute label with a nautilus. Pretty color with a hint of rose petals. Smells like hibiscus red zinger tea and cranberry sauce. Flavors are mellow and warm. Fruits in a toasted Danish. Finish is tannic yet likable. — 7 months ago

Cuvée Gaby Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2016

Nighttime action shot from a distanced meet up last night. Spice laden peach & pear. Aromatics are off the charts. Could have smelled this all night as it kept evolving. Everything is hope for in a White Rhône. — 6 years ago

When Colombier is on its on. Northern Rhône whites are still great values.

A brilliant vintage for this wine. A top 5 Crozes. Easy. Spice, game, some funk, blueberry, black berry, black cherry, huge granite and even some wilted flowers. Young but tasty palate of dazzling granite and velvety tannins and engaging energy from the minerality. Terrific power, depth and concentration. Needs 5 years. So long and such beautifully defined fruit on the incredibly long finish. Really rich and dark. Awesome. Wait 5 years. As this opens the balance becomes superb. Almost a 9.4. I’ll be back. — 6 years ago
