Tasted on Wednesday 14 May 2025: A wine that evokes the heart of a burning forest — old-vine Grenache and century-old Carignan conjure up smoldering earth, wild herbs, and dark berries. It’s raw, intense, and untamed, like fire licking through ancient woods.

Great dry Chardonnay. Balanced alcohol and acid. Medium acid. Medium- high alcohol. Slight peach aroma. Slight bitter finish but not to a fault. Very rich mouthfeel and thick texture. Good burgundy. — 6 years ago
A perfectly composed bouquet with a well-balanced flavor profile. The snails were accompanied at Caveau des Arches in Beaune. — a month ago

Sweet/dry in between. — 7 months ago
Another winner from what has become one of my favorite Maconnais growers. Nose has pure, peachy, ripe appley fruit together with crushed wet limestone. Fairly deeply flavored, with surprisingly nice acids for such a hot year and good mineral tension in the finish. The balance on this is so nice. — 9 months ago

Words almost fail here. Monumentally fine and utterly complete, combining substance with incredible elegance and purity. Everything is perfectly integrated. One of those Champagnes that simply feels inevitable from first sip to last. — 7 days ago
