Popped and poured; enjoyed over a red sauce pasta night at home. High shoulder fill, but the cork completely disintegrated during removal. Juice is still drinking exceptionally well; shockingly fresh for being 40. Tons of black fruit and strong spices, with its age showing via expected tobacco and leather notes. Very structured via strong tannins and acidity; long and smooth / velvety finish...meaning this still has room to run. Cheers! — 16 days ago

Rose’ only by DNA. It’s really a creamed white, flecks of rose gold. One of those wines that looks more watery than she is. Some textural viscosity, equal parts cream and acid.
Aromas of apple and fennel and white cherry and herbs. Flavors of orchard fruits - pear and apple nicely rounded out.
The Corsican wines I’ve explored lately remind me that really good stuff doesn’t need to shout. They can be complete, and that’s enough. — 3 years ago
Clos Troteligotte, k-barré, chenin, Chardonnay, malbec, merlot and tannat 2023.
This is classified as Vin de France and according to Pauline from the winery this is registered as a rosé. It's rather a light red with some tannins and a nice long fruity finish. Pauline saif the chenin saw some skin contact and the mouthfeel is rather orange wine than red or rosé to be honest. Real good glouglou stuff ! — 9 months ago
Inaugural release from Pauline, Raphaël Bérèche’s wife. Made of old-vine Pinot Noir from her own family’s estate. 48 months on lees and with a dosage of 3.5 g/l. Scarce as hen’s teeth with a mere 1996 bottles produced. Delicious, though I did find it a tad simple (and primary). Heaps of green apples and citrus fruits. Tasted almost like Zapple for those in the know. Air did coax out the more mineralic elements, along with hints of nuttiness and toast. Good energy.
