Dehlinger Goldridge

Dehlinger Winery

Altamont Syrah 2018

2018 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 45 minutes and 1.25 hours. Medium/medium-heavy body. Dropped the overt weight and starting to get more chiseled. The usual fruit and spice suspects without surprises. Would love to hit this in 8-10 years. Too well-balanced currently so it will be a difficult task to accomplish. 01.16.26. — 19 days ago

It has been a while since I’ve had a Dehlinger. Always solid and not sure about current pricing but I remember them being a good value. I’ll have to scare one up. Thx for the reminder

Estate Russian River Valley Claret Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah 2011

The black fruit is still present though on the downside with a touch of green showing. Drank this on the wrong side of the hill but still enjoyable enough. — 4 months ago

Goldridge Vineyard Old Vines Pinot Noir 2018

Nose of red fruits (strawberries, cherries), Provençal herbs, sometimes mint and sage. Taste flavors of black/red cherries and berries, with baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), mint, and gentle oak. Long finish with lingering with herbal, citrus, and spice nuances. Could easily go a few more years but why wait. Still have a few more bottles in my cellar. — 8 months ago

2021 vintage. Medium/medium-heavy body. Smoky, plummy, spicy. Pretty crushable now but a decade+ aged bottle might unlock a secret, or two, of the universe. nicely done. 04.23.25. — 9 months ago

I love everything about these guys with the exception of the label. Not sure why it bugs me but I just wish it was a bit more modern.

Aromas & Flavors
Bright red cherry, crushed raspberry, and cranberry with hints of pomegranate, rose petal, and a whisper of baking spice. A touch of coastal herb and minerality brings added freshness.

Boars' View The Coast Pinot Noir 2019

Boars’ View “The Coast” Pinot Noir 2018
Fort Ross–Seaview AVA, Sonoma Coast, California, USA 🇺🇸

Overview
Handcrafted by Thomas Rivers Brown at the dramatic West Sonoma Coast site, this Pinot Noir highlights maritime fog, Goldridge loam soils, and heritage clones. The 2018 “Coast” includes 100% heritage clones—Calera, Mt. Eden, and Swan—meticulously fermented and aged to express both elegance and power.

Aromas & Flavors
Plush and aromatic: expect cranberry compote, lavender, sandalwood, and hints of violet. On the palate, it delivers black cherry, plum paste, nutmeg, quince, forest floor, and licorice—all layered over a finely tuned mineral edge.

Mouthfeel
Full-bodied yet refined. Silky tannins and well-integrated acidity support rich fruit without heaviness. A harmonious finish unfolds with persistence and grace.

Winemaking Notes
Destemmed fruit underwent fermentation and then aged 10 months in French oak barrels, 50% new, from François Frères, Remond, and Gauthier cooperages. The result is focused power with nuanced oak influence.

Food Pairing
Perfect with grilled duck, game birds, roasted pork, or truffle-scented risotto. Its depth and savory complexity also pair beautifully with hearty stews or mushroom-forward dishes.

Verdict
Boars’ View “The Coast” PINOT NOIR 2018 is a masterclass in West Coast Pinot—intensely flavorful, texturally rich, and meticulously crafted. A cellar-worthy wine with both grace and longevity. A rare Napa-level Pinot Noir priced in the $145–160 range. Cheers!
