Deep ruby in color; smoke, cigar box, and black cherries on the nose; medium acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like hibiscus, cherries, plums, and a little eucalyptus with a long finish. I didn't think I would like this wine based on the aromas, but I am really enjoying it. — 8 months ago

Dry, great mouthfeel, nice long finish! — 18 days ago
I thought I was drinking the estate bottling but it turns out to be the Altamont. Wow, what a big wine and super loaded with cola, deep dark berries and some more completely intergraded elements. It had a nice long finish. Overall it was quite different and a bit over the top, Not sure if it would calm down some with more age. Got a few more bottles so I guess I’ll find out. — 3 months ago

Black cherry aromas. Very rich black fruit flavors w long finish — 2 months ago
Dark rubi robe, nose of dark cherries, cocoa, blackcurrant, cedar, asian spices and wood spice. Very elegant and same time bold in the mouth, complex, good length. This is classical claret at its best. Was decanted 45 minutes before our fois gras and Simmental steak was served. Great stuff. Was our Mother’s day meal. — 8 months ago

As per my last notes on this wine; lead pencil, cedar, berries and a hint of veg. Nice smooth long finish but overall not very rich. I think it’s done, thankfully its my last bottle and need to move on to the 2016. — a month ago
