An over-deliverer always, that Charles Smith. I suppose when your name is that close to Charles Shaw you had probably better show up on point. Smith’s wines though—dependably tasty, more complex than your average bear which is saying something because bears are in fact fascinating mammals. Anyway. You know what else? This is a rosé of Pinot Gris aka Grigio ooooh. Tropical and a bit of funk and stone. It’s a disco-themed dance party. Which is a great party. I stand behind this statement. — 7 years ago

OMG!!! I’m going to save myself some time and post these all at once. It was one of those epic nights!!!!!! LOL
8 of us began on a mystical journey of friendship, food & WINE!!
we began with five bottles of Haber which just arrived at my office yesterday! OMG! Now I only have three left! LOL!!!!!!!! I absolutely adore this wine and so did my friends. It was actually their WOTN which is a lot to say given the company it was in. I then opened a bottle of 2012 Memento Mori which was its usual opulent self!! Two of us preferred this wine over Haber but the remainder preferred Haber. I pulled this trick out of my butt from David Lentine!!!! A palate cleanser after heavy Cabernets and we opened a gorgeous Beaux Freres- The Beaux Freres Vineyard. We then got things going again with one of my favorite Chardonnays in Napa! This stuff absolutely rocks and should be bought by all. Nuf said, it’s that freaking good!!! Last but not least I decided to mix it up a little and pulled one of my favorite under the radar GSM blends that I know. Domaine de la grange des Peres. Every single one of my guests Took a sip and immediately snap their head up to say “what the heck is this! “that’s good!" You will look like a hero pouring it at anyone’s party and the cost is negligible at $95 a bottle! Bad ass in a glass as I always say. Every single one of these bottles proved to be as such! Love you guys sand cheers to you all! The individual rating for each wine was slightly different but I would say as a collective it was definitely a 9.6 type of evening.

More in alignment with WS review: “Cherry, raspberry, violet and mineral aromas and flavors mark this perfumed red. Racy and elegant, with defining acidity. Persistent finish. Drink now through 2028. 3,300 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.” — Bruce Sanderson… Versus WE: “Like a garden at twilight, this Barbera lifts with violets and lavender before diving into a pool of plums and boysenberries, kissed by fresh herbs. The palate mirrors this purple-fruited dance with juicy precision. Give it a slight chill and watch it become the life of the party.” — Jeff Porter. — 5 months ago
2016 vintage. Precious little baby fat left and already plenty of the aged Bordeaux stank in the nose. Supple but has the palate footprint of a pinot. Some blue fruit and cocoa powder on the delicate finish. So much finesse. Drink now or forget for a solid 15-spot…it matters not. Texturally gorgeous and definitely not your average Napa Cabbage-now or then. Ric Forman is the rare producer that straddles the verry old school and new school in Napa and, yet, his wines still remain classical and true vs the 2nd "cult" wave/post-1991 obscenely-scored/fruit bomb/über-extracted/distilled/dance party/reduction sauce-styled ridiculousness so in vogue for the last three damned decades. A welcome respite. 2.28.23. — 3 years ago
The ultimate glou. Precursor to dad rock dance party... — 6 years ago
A friend had a “reduction party” as he was needing to thin out his cellar. Definitely a party I’m happy to attend!
If picking, this was my wine of the night. One of those wines that just mesmerizes you and has you thinking about it days later. A perfect balance of classic Napa cab and new school style. I’d call this high toned in the way it shows such a gorgeous lift to the aromatics. So perfumed. Espresso, melted chocolate, ripe and candied black cherries, fresh squeezed blackberries, brown sugar and sandalwood. It’s impeccably balanced on the palate...decadent, yet restrained. Baking spices dance on the tongue, enveloped in dark red plum, bayleaf and the perfect marriage of acidity and tannin. Drop dead gorgeous now and for many years to come. — 6 years ago

Good to know,
Perfect sweetness and white light fullness balance. Like a mango wine pina colada dance party. Perfect summery turkey wine spritzer. — 10 years ago
Chilled Carbonic Poulsard. Super barnyard funk, sour cherries, zippy, minerally, herbal... with that kick of Brett. Desert island wine! Really fun and interesting, drinks almost like a lambic. This wine is like an 80s electro-disco dance party in your mouth!! :) — 10 years ago
Part of a horizontal tasting of Central Coast mourvedre at our Wine Party, this wine is typical of the great stuff Ryan Pease is doing at his label Paix sur Terre. I don't know how he manages to produce such an elegant wine from 100% mourvedre, but that's exactly what this wine is: elegant. Beautiful fruit, with smooth, sweet tannins that just dance on the palate. Great stuff! — 10 years ago

Popped and poured into a bota bag; poured into chalices and free-poured into mouths as I played the role of Dionysus at a Greek god themed dance party. The 2022 pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of primary black and blue fruits, mixed florals, anise and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. I love the fresh, crunchy fruit. A perfect wine for revelry! Drink now through 2030. — 7 months ago
F$^#^ IT@!! Dance party. . . I think pepper flavor and my fam says citrus. I am clearly right but I am 3 bottles in so. . . — 4 years ago
A sort of apricot forward, light frizzy marmalade herb, rosemary, mint bouquet. It’s subtle and almost graceful like a swan’s dance on the surface of water.
Love, love the unapologetic nature of the bubbles and effervescence. It’s the grand entrance to the ballroom. The backless gown that says I’m here because this party would not exist without me, or at least it would not be as great or fun or story-worthy. These are the jeans that are too tight, the pocket square that doesn’t match, the polka dot socks, the nose stud on the guy that’s got the best suit in the house, and just makes the whole damn thing work.
Drink it. Love it. Tell everyone.
Peach soda, light to medium body, umami and the tart sweetness of a ripe mango. Every magnetic sip bursting with pure discovery and, most of all, the thing people forget in high culture, regular old fun. — 6 years ago
The costume of a white with the body of a red.
Think Pinot noir with a hint of Chardonnay. This is delicious with a great sea bass or oysters. I was surprised by the price for the value. Great deal for a fun and exciting wine. — 8 years ago
A well-earned creamy cherry bomb after two hours of workout mania. Creating space within the chaos is my mantra these days. I feel fit, I feel good, I feel happy after mentally bashing in the face of evil with my knuckles, then soothing my soul with a little hip hop. My Pink-and-Imagine Dragons-only playlist is making me want to keep the dance party going all night. Great Rose. Total Wine. — 8 years ago
Great wine. Had a smokey flavor when first opened that was over powering, as you continue to drink it and it opens up the flavors fully start to develop. There Is a plum/cherry flavor with a smooth vanilla finish. Would pair this with red meat. Lamb, some BBQ, steak. The flavors were awkwardly dancing as if it was there first dance at a middle school party. By the second hour of opening up, they were full fledged waltzing. It was a beautiful symphony of movement. Would absolutely get again. — 10 years ago
Mother's Day was perfect. And realistic. It meant doing dishes, laundry, and making four beds before 8am. But it also meant having an impromptu dance party with my Mom and my twins in her bathroom before 9am. It was a day devoid of cancer talk, acknowledging the obvious with extra long hugs, but choosing to embrace the moment and be hopeful there will be many more Mothers' Days with my Mom. This Vin Perdu was an excellent ending. Earthy and maybe even smoky vs what I have been drinking (because it's on fiiiyyaaa🔥) Heidi Barrett - need I say more - you know how I feel about her. And PS, if you've ever had it, you would know it's quite possibly the best label ever (a hologram) — 10 years ago
