Second take on this wine in a different vintage and, in short, I still like it. Red forest fruits and cherry on the nose, along with some mineral notes like slate and pencil lead, an earthy note too. The palate is long, acid driven, shows a bright cherry note all along. There are some earthy notes too and some width. The mouthfeel is rather smooth at first but develops into a lively tannic wall in the rear, powering up a long fruity finish with still some of these earthy notes and cherry. Good stuff but could use a couple of more years in bottle. — 5 months ago

This wine has a pale, straw yellow color in the glass with hints of green. The nose sports a boatload of citrus - lemon, lime, tangerine - with a slight herbal scent. Pinot Grigio usually is too floral and flaccid for my taste. Not this one. The palate has every bit of that citrus from the nose and minerality to spare. Acidity is bracing, so food pairings will be easy. But this is a great sipper, too, as an aperitif. — 3 months ago
My friend from Emilia Romagna brought me this wine again, 5 years after after visiting his hometown for Christmas. Same wine, different vintage, same enjoyment.
The nose is made of cherry, pencil shavings, some soy sauce and a touch of smoke. The palate is delicious with a great acid drive, some delicious cherry juice notes all along, some width, some grippy mouthfeel that is well disrupted by a great tannic wall kicking in the rear. The finish is tannic, grippy with cherry notes and some oaky, smoky notes and a great umami touch. It's a great Sangiovese from outside of Tuscany and it paired with nice steaks cooked rare in butter (2 minutes on each side) by yours truly 😅 — 8 months ago

Very dense and black in colour. These wines always remind me of Fruit and Nut milk chocolate. The colour makes you think full bodied but it’s actually light to medium bodied. A luscious mouth filling palate with the savoury milk chocolate together with notes of raisin and date. Supple yet persistent tannins. Reminiscent of a Priorat Garnacha in some respects. — 2 months ago
