Such a damn fine example what Muscat de petit grains dried in the sun can be. Made into the sweet (but not too sweet), spicy aromatic concoction that can be found in many countries. Miel? Yes but I get a lot of dried apricot equally. The residual sugar is IMHO perfectly balanced by the remaining acids. One of the best examples of desert Muscat I've had anywhere. Good cold but maybe even better at cool room temp.

2002 not a sweet fruity concoction dusty briar but worthy — 5 years ago
This wine is so sweet that I feel like I’m drinking a concoction of a bunch of juices. There is notes of cherry, blackberry, and raspberry. Although I didn’t pair this properly, it would pair well with BBQ, pasta dishes, and breaded cutlets. — 5 years ago

Pear, almond citrus blousey concoction. So soft and smooth. — 9 years ago
So delicious. Honey apricot and warmth swirl in this incredible concoction — a year ago
Dark cat peers seductively through a glass dimly. Ribbons of African violet, blackberry under cocoa nib, nutmeg, dark smooth stone, suede, ripe, unbroken black cherry, dried currant, poppyseed. Strong taste of black currant, black olive, tart cherry, fig, raisin, dried cranberry, tabak, and graphite-peppercorn protruding from a blackberry and violet concoction. Elegant with sinew. Very alive, and a bit young after all that. Impressive depth.

Vinho Verde...Iberian 2nd Division for Green Wine. Well, it’s a subtlety acidic and sweet concoction derived from something green...hence, what can go wrong? I can’t help but to rate this one high, as it was the great Gordon Gecko who once stated, “green is good”. — 5 years ago
Some of my most favorite wines in the world. I discovered this bottle and a few others of its ilk recently lurking in the inventory of a local wine shop being sold for a song. I bought them all and opened the first one today. A bright Halloween orange in color this wine smells of orange peel, dark honey and exotic flowers. In the mouth, lightly sweet notes of orange blossom syrup, citrus peel, wet pavement and autumn leaves make for a gorgeous silky concoction. The acidity is filigreed and softening, but still very much a part of the wine. Exotic and alluring. A one-of-a-kind field blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Beurot, Muscat, and Pinot Noir. — 6 years ago
A smoky plummy smooth concoction. It’s quite nice! — 7 years ago
The time had come for la baronne to stand from the table willing and able to drip her lip in for a sip of the fruit forward concoction she’d made for auction. Her serpentine tongue slithered to attention at the taste of layered perfection. Shockwaves erupted in a delayed matter one can assume was an effect of all the inebriated chatter. “Aton Aton!” she cried. “I’ve done it again with this most regal of blends.” And with that she cheers‘d the rapscallion bunch all of them equally out to lunch. — 8 years ago
First thought is that I lack the vocabulary for this one, as alas, don’t get to try these legends too often. Nose leads with pure smoked meat, cherry-licorice liqueur (without the alcohol whiff) and something I can only call “magical spice concoction” Palate hits first the side with acid freshness (hello! Where did you come from?) then unwinds the long and complex licorice and boysenberry melange that is already approachable with with enough sandiness in the tannins to show higher promise in the future. Texture hits with smoky bacon fat and carried everything for 30 seconds plus — 2 years ago
Continuing the theme of older Italian wines… I’ve had this Greco lying around for a while and tonight it seemed like something I should open with pesto pasta. After 15 years, this once steely lean wine has fattened into a wonderful saline butterscotch concoction with lemon rind. But there’s also still a fantastic petrichor quality to the wine that brings me back to the glass. — 5 years ago
If you are lucky enough to have tried several vintages of this wine, you are struck at how remarkably consistent it is, year after year. You begin to let your imagination run wild. How does the winemaker manage to overcome the nuances of each season’s misgivings? For me, I imagine that he starts with a bunch of juicy raisins, strawberries, violets and meticulously places them into a vat in an otherwise nondescript cave in Spain. He then selects only the choicest hides of leather to add to the concoction at precisely the right moment. Finally, he waives a magic wand and proclaims “abracadabra”. Nineteen years later, this juice of the Gods is yours to enjoy. 🙏🏻 🍷 🎩
I’ve now enjoyed multiple bottles of the ‘05, ‘01, ‘00, ‘96, ‘87 and ‘70 vintages. I have a few more sleeping but will certainly replenish lost stock. Do yourself a favour and buy every vintage you see. The price allows for this and more. Decanted for six hours. Enjoyed over a lot less than that. — 6 years ago
Lovely silky deep purple that will make your Robitussin (and any other purple or grape concoction in existence) jealous. On the dry side, with “dark fruit” of maybe cherry, blueberry, blackberry, some smoothing vanilla...and don’t forget that oak. This one hits home with the oak, which is nicely balanced in a blend of several of the best red wine styles...and I’m happy to report that it isn’t too much of a good thing! Balanced alcohol as well. This is a mature red blend that taunts all the big players. Stay away if you’re looking for a lighter “more fun” blend. Otherwise, sit back and let this mesmerizing Pendulum adjust your equilibrium. Avoid the food distraction and you’ll be jumping on & swinging in no time. — 7 years ago
Awesome !It has a subtle start but finishes with a sharp spice, much like a visit to the washroom after a meal at Taco Bell. I enjoyed the wine. Hard to get a good handle of the different flavors! $22 — 8 years ago
