Virtual tasting with Tyler Russell from Cordant/Nelle tonight with our Paso crew. Thanks @Stanley Barrios for the reference! Had a blast drinking the syrahs, pinot noir and grenache. So much virtual fun and fabulous wine! — 6 years ago

Tart cherries! Little salty. Hazy and sour like a gose. Blurring the line btw wine and beer! — 6 years ago
Amazing pairing! Chicago style pizza and Saratoga Syrah. Deep purple color. Aromas of smoked meat, boysenberry and blackberry. Haunting blackberry, boysenberry, huckleberry and limestone finish.
5% Viognier to this big boy.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Monterey County is a gorgeous appellation-level wine, not to mention just flat out delicious. A wine of impeccable balance and total class, the 2016 is impossible to resist. A high percentage (85%) of whole clusters adds layers of aromatic nuance without pushing the wine into realm of greenness. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint, crushed flowers and mint are some of the many nuances that develop in the glass. Fruit sources are Coastview and Kevin Olson. The Monterey County is bottled after about eleven months in barrel, earlier than the vineyard designates. There is so much personality and character here. In short, don't miss it! Inky dark ruby in color. Molasses, oak and menthol on the nose. On the palate cola, cocoa, cedar and spice predominate. Some tannins and light but lingering acid in the finish. The 2010 is still drinking well, but may be on the back side of its quality years. — 7 years ago
Black olives, tart red and black fruit, woody herbaceous, puckering. A beautiful Syrah from Monterey. 🌲❤️
