I think this is the best release of this wine I’ve had. LC22. It’s excellent tonight layered with ripe orchard fruit, gun smoke, salted hazelnuts and exotic spices. The palate is structured and concentrated with a satiny texture and vibrant energy giving way to a saline and mineral laced finale. Delicious! — a month ago

2015 vintage. Opened with a Durand, decanted with minimal sed, and tasted after 20 minutes and one hour. Decided woofer. Darker than the proverbial soul of a hit(wo)man...er...moonless night. Slight amount of initial, buy-in with the merest hint of tartness before slipping into the classic (arena), crunchy rock solo (go with your favorite-so many good ones) on repeat. Richness. Structure. Depth. Levity. Self-awareness (just messing). Power. Nuance. Another 15-spot wouldn't hurt as this be a relative infant currently and, in another 15 years, it's likely still too youthful. 10.05.25. — 2 months ago

I had the 1998 vintage of this dusty old Bordeaux about 5 months ago and it was underwhelming. Maybe an off bottle. But THIS 99 is pretty great. Fresh mixed berries (blueberry) on the nose, and very elegant fruit + tame soft tannins give a really nice mouthfeel with an extraordinarily long finish. Dried herbes de Provence and hay for days. I’m having one glass tonight and will check back in tomorrow after more air. Not an expensive bottle, but age served it well.

Follow up: Really singing on day 2. Got even better with another hour+ in the glass. But I’d say it’s getting slightly past its prime and best to drink now :) Party like it’s 1999. — a year ago
