Muted nose, rustic style, earth and spice. This wine should be paired with flannel and a fire. I’m never going camping (again), but if I were I would bring this wine.

2016 Justin Girdarn Pommard. 100% Pinot Noir. Pommard comes from three sites, “Les Vignots, “Les Cras,” and “Les Cote.” Côte de Beaune.

surprisingly better than remembered. had expected heavier because pommard but turned out medium light. good cherry redcurrant nose. strong on palate moving towards lead. then strong and long aftertaste. deserved 9.2 — 4 years ago

Nose of cherry, dry rose petals, smoke, blood. Well balanced palate with cherry , rose and vanilla, a sheer acid backbone with a long finish with little tart red berries. Lovely — 8 years ago

Drinking the tail end of another dinner here. Losing a bit of vigour after two days opened, but still showing heaps of textural richness and chewy energetic fruit. Plums, cranberries, spice, and earthy nuances. Impressively long finish. Wow! Sadly, the bouquet was the let down, whereby the expectedly floral notes have disappeared at this stage and a light musk has started developing. Nevertheless, I can’t discount that this was an excellent aperitif. — 3 years ago

Superb pommard village. Nice strong nose full of minerality and cherry, multiple layers that reveal themselves after letting the wine breathe. The palate is as good as expected : first touch of cherry and velvety tannins, a nice balanced palate that goes forever thanks to a nice acidity. This is quite a subtle wine that carries it flavours and savours with little touches here and there and goes a long way. Will age beautifully. The acidity and tannins make it still very young. I'll be curious to taste it again in 8-10 years — 9 years ago

Très jeune, des épices, herbes, floral, belle tension et structure assez puissante mais sans excès, touche végétale qui n’est pas trop agacante, a besoin de temps.

Very young, needs time, spices, herbs, a bit of a floral charavter, a touch green but not too much, needs time, nice acidity and good structure though. 89-90 — 4 years ago

Interesting Pinot. Very tight and green in the beginning. Adapted a character after 1-1.5 hours. Opened up and allowed us to pick up earthy tart dark cherry fruit. — 6 years ago
