Valbuena 5° Ribera del Duero Tempranillo Blend 2018

Beautiful. The only thing was that we opened after Unico and that was a hard one to follow. — 3 days ago

Campo Viejo

Rioja Tempranillo 2021

Classic Spanish flag color of yellow with red writing. Good brick red color. Just a hint of a purple core. Aroma is stones and red/black cherry cobblers-pies. Slightest of linseed oils. Flavors are bright, fresh Temp. Crunchy and dry. Just a hint of fennel or oregano. Has a classic feel and flavor. Would be great for watching El Clasico. — 15 hours ago

Pintia Toro Tempranillo 2019

Toro: one of the oldest and strongest expressions of Tempranillo is tamed by the House of Vega Sicilia. Pintia preserves the rustic and robust nature of the DO in an elegant way. Aromas and flavors of dark fruit, violets, dark chocolate, coffee and spice. Full bodied, high alcohol and fine grain tannins with a strong finish are sure to entice. — a month ago

R. López de Heredia

Viña Gravonia Crianza Rioja Viura 2012

This is a favourite & we picked up a few bottles to see how age changes it. This is our last bottle and age has done it well.

Time has made it weightier. The wine is real dry & has a bit of a walnut flavour. In its depths, you can tease out a hint of sweetness.

We need to find more.

It sings to me too… just the price of admission has radically altered over the years!@Vin d’Ottawa

I am surprised that you did not rate this higher. I have an older version - they tend to get oxidized - hence the Walnut - there are folks who hate that - but i think it is different and brilliant!

@Peter Sultan it is pricier these days.
@Pinotman /// Andreas for me this is a special wine

Dominio de Pingus

Descendientes de José Palacios

Pétalos Bierzo Mencía 2020

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2020 “Pétalos” pours a deep purple color with a magenta rim and an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe and tart black fruits: blackberries, black cherry, salmiakki, horse blanket, and mixed earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A crazy, ambitious wine that’s the result of assembling over 300 plots. Between Raúl Perez and Palacios, Mencia doesn’t get much better. Drink now through 2030. — a month ago

Bodegas Muga

Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2020

Blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, and the rest Graciano and Mazuelo, deep Ruby, aromas of sweet red and black fruits with pepper spice and oak, aged in both French and American oak for 24 months. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with licorice, vanilla, tobacco and toasty oak tones. Soft full ripe tannins, wonderful balance, lively acidity on a long finish ending with an earthy mineral character. Very nice! — 19 days ago
