Minty again. As in ‘13. Deep cassis nose, deceptively rich, the body is much more lifted and bright than the nose would initially lead you to. Minerality but soft. It screams Tuscany. That ineffable quality of underbrush and cedar mixed with blue/black fruits. Of course, I could be imposing this. So much nicer( for us) than most Cali cabs in terms of lightness/acidity. A nice partner w food. Second time w this wine, and I will say that that their use of wood, both piccoli and grande, is deft. There’s weight, but w/o obscuring the fruit or feel.

Good stuff, very enjoyable and for around $25. Excellent choice for lighter Italian fare. Paired wonderfully with our simple aglio e olio fettuccine and side of sautéed cauliflower. — 6 years ago
