Opened this wine first last night for a pizza party at my home. I was able to decant for over an hour since we opted to drink a Pinot Grigio with our first course. The decant time really allowed this wine to open up beautifully. This was another wine that I purchased a couple of years ago at a wine dinner. I had no memory of what it had to offer. The is a solid Sangiovese blend that offers balance and structure. Lovely aromas red fruit, maybe a touch of black fruit, spice with pleasing mouthfeel and finish. For the purchase price it offers great QPR. — 11 days ago
Il Rosé di Casanova, Rosato, Toscano. 50% Sangiovese, 50% Prugnolo Gentile. Light salmon pink with burnt orange tinge. Apricot-peach aromas, strawberry peach flavors, peach fuzz like astringency on finish, quite evocative really. Nice dry Rosé with just enough acidity, better for sipping than with food. — 2 months ago

2015 vintage. Single vineyard 100 % Sangiovese from south facing hill full of schist stones. Hand picked and sorted. 14 months in French oak tonneaux then 4 months in concrete vats then 6 months in bottle.
Impressive nose of cherry kirsch, new leather and savoury baker’s spice.
Taste wise, layers of ripe strawberry and cherry with a touch of earthiness and stones. Brilliant mouth watering acidity with freshness. I could drink this every week.
We made our own dough and had duck, local B.C. Matsutake mushrooms and grilled onion pizza with this wine. — 7 days ago
2015. 9.1+. Just too young. Same problem as with Altesino: takes forever to open up, very salty and tart, then thins out and fades. Very good producer. Going to stop opening the better 2015 Brunellos and will revisit. $50 on Delectable. — a day ago

Juicy, dark, dried fruit. Medium finish, wants food! My associate says ”it’s making me feel good.” — 5 months ago
