Sinebrychoff porter. I rarely put beers on here but this is a special one. Started by a Russian--that's Синебрюхов to you--now a very small tentacle of the Carlsberg octopus. Brewed and bottled in Finland, this is _the_ Baltic porter, a fabulously pleasing accord of dark malts, coffee, and chocolate. All with a lovely prominent bitter note , like Susan Sontag's streak of grey. Properly bone-dry with an ABV of only 7.2%. This bottle is ten years old and only just starting to fade. — 9 years ago
