Straightforward Sangiovese from near Forlì. Earthy and slightly rustic, unfiltered. Cherry, touch of oak, leather, and vanilla but medium–light; could be good with a slight chill, too. Lush tannins, some graphite and cedar. From Perry’s, Provincetown. 07/22/2022 — 4 years ago
La Vie del Colle ‘Ultra’ Bianco Forli IGT 2020: Fresh. Fruity. Fun. Loved this organic, non-filtered, natural Albana wine from the Forlì/Cesena area of Emilia-Romagna. Hand-picked during 3 different times of ripeness with 8 months of maceration in terracotta amphoras, this wine displayed nice structure & balance with clean sapid peach notes. A perfect lunchtime selection to pair with a mozzarella, pomodoro, salsiccia e funghi cassoni. Yum to both! Cheers 😋🍷 — 4 years ago
One of the treasures of Emília Romagna at Osteria Riva $150. Quite full and robust following the 2000 Marzieno Zerbina which preceded it $130, which blew Andy away - reminded him of ancient Hill of Grace - thinner, closer to the end of its life but much finer style, while the 2005 from the previous week ($120) can probably survive a few more years. — 9 years ago

Drei Donà ‘Riserva Palazza’ Sangiovese Superiore 2015: Medium-bodied. Elegant structure & balance. Nice acidity. Black cherry. Cranberry. Dried herbs. Tobacco. Earth. Long finish. Consisting of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, this Cuvèe blew my expectations away. Strong complex flavors which evolved beautifully as the evening progressed. I will definitely seek more bottles out as this is one wine I need to buy more of. An obvious winner from Predappio in Emilia-Romagna. Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
Good Sangiovese without the classic cherry of chianti so much. Big wine bit only 13%. Finishes with an interesting sour note. — 6 years ago
Really good. Sometimes an Italian Bordeaux blend is what you want.
Nose has some lovely pleasant earthiness. Spectacular. Gorgeous aromatics. Wtf? I gave this a 9.1 at Vinitaly.
I did see upside but only had 15 minutes to taste. This stuff is THE SHIT.
Blackberry fruit. Good juiciness. Very good deliciousness. Some spice.
Not over the top obnoxiously ripe. Emilia Romagna. North of Tuscany. So less ripe.

— 8 years ago
This wine is medium ruby colored. The nose is forceful. It shows blackberries and black plums, along with an extremely earthy element. The palate carries dark fruit under a savory cloak, and there is a very firm set of tannins. The acidity is quite lively and the finish is long and savory. — 2 years ago
Guesses for this blind basically took us on an Italian wine country tour - from Montalcino to the Alto Aldige to Alto Piedmonte. Ergo, variety guesses were as good as a shot in the dark - Sangiovese, Pinot Nero, Nebbiolo, strange Italian variety names courtesy of the Italian winemakers on the table. What is clear though is the youth and elegance of the wine. Heaps of sweet black cherries and roses, some herbs and spices, along with juicy acidity and superfine tannins, which most thought were a touch green. I thought it drank it really well, though if anything, the blind does prove how difficult it can be to pinpoint these “gentler” style of reds which are more giving in their youth. And the reveal - A Sangiovese from Emilia-Romagna. Who would have thought? — 3 years ago
SaDiVino ‘La Solfatara’ Sangiovese Superiore Riserva DOC 2016: Medium-bodied. Beautiful structure & balance. Nice acidity & tannins. Ripe red fruits. Blackberry. Tobacco. Leather. Long flavorful finish. What an excellent wine! This is pure Sangiovese goodness; an amazing wine at an outstanding price point. You will not find too many high-quality Sangiovese Riserva wines from Predappio like this! Highly recommend. Ottimo vino! Salute per tutti! 🇮🇹🍷🍕 — 4 years ago
Cantina Forli Predappio ‘Tratti D’Autore’ Albana Secco Romagna DOCG 2020: Nice acidity. Nice balance. Lemon & peach flavors. Perfect dry finish. In heaven with this local wine selection and seafood pasta dish (tagliolini alle vongole)! I’ll be back! Cheers🍷 — 5 years ago

Will be better in a few years but no regrets opening tonight to cap off a nice holiday break. Decanted 3 hours. Lots of structure still. Delicious restrained red and dark fruit, some nice earth, long finish, excellent acid. Love all of the wines from Condello from the $25 entry level up to these riservas. — 7 months ago
