This #rioja is a nice bridge between modern style with the American oak and traditional style - bramble fruit, soft tobacco notes set off against sous bois, cremini mushroom. Nice weighty palate with deliciously quaffable acidity and yes some new oak tannins but they are well integrated. While this wine will continue to develop for another 5 years, in it’s half-decade it paired magnificently with garam masala spiced lamb chops, garbanzo bean stew (chole) and moong dal for an Indian feast on vacation. — 3 years ago

@enramistas.com ! Fragant is spot on.
20 yr. old wines fresh as a daisy.
Fortified to 20°. N:Shoe leather, salt, treacle, ripe fruits, plantains, caramel lozenges, distant boats.faint barrel smoke.
P: old oranges, marmalade, puckering citrus, rinds, brown sugar, ( Demerara), so acidic and contrapuntally rich.
A feast.

Dec 12, 2020. Feast tasting. Pale straw, white flowers on nose. Lime, chalky. Really nice, easy drinking Chablis. Nice white for a non-white drinker. 😂 — 3 years ago

From a cool, windswept, 2.5 acre plot in McMinnville. A Pinot and Nebbiolo lover’s Syrah. High acid with taut, nervy red fruits. Pair with pomegranate chicken or a Thanksgiving feast. More than anything needs lots of ignoring for a good while. Drink 2025-2040. — 8 months ago
Opened this ‘05 Castello San Sano to go with our Italian takeout feast from the Hunt. — 3 years ago
Subtle aromatics of pear and papaya. White flowers, lilies, methinks.
Slight bubbles dancing on the taste buds, strong medium acidity as a great backbone to the lavender, pear, and honey.
