Aug 9th, 2021Excellent Rioja, especially slightly chilled. First sips were a bit dry but opened up quickly to full dark fruit flavors.

Jul 7th, 2021Full body yet fairly smooth finish. Paired with Asian beef bowl & rice, corn on cob, and sautéed asparagus too.

Jun 28th, 2021Nice wine. Good depth with strong notes of dark red tart fruit. Evolved some on the finish but stayed rather single note. Certainly not to me the 95 that JS scored. Maybe needs to be aged more.

Apr 9th, 2021This #rioja is a nice bridge between modern style with the American oak and traditional style - bramble fruit, soft tobacco notes set off against sous bois, cremini mushroom. Nice weighty palate with deliciously quaffable acidity and yes some new oak tannins but they are well integrated. While this wine will continue to develop for another 5 years, in it’s half-decade it paired magnificently with garam masala spiced lamb chops, garbanzo bean stew (chole) and moong dal for an Indian feast on vacation.
