As a big fan of Camut’s calvados, this was a ton of fun to try. First time having anything like this. At only 17% abv, much more drinkable after a long meal than calvados. Beautiful deep caramel apple nose. A bit lighter if you’re expecting a brandy, which this is clearly not - but really very nice (and perfect for the fall and alongside an apple crumble!) — 6 years ago
Phenomenal Calvados. Just lovely. — 3 years ago
This finished in Cognac barrels. It offers a much drier expression focused on wood characteristics. Savory and firm this would be good with some pate or foie. — 4 years ago
Exactly what I wanted, top shelf, beautiful apple floral, fruit, bark… a lot was captured in the distilling.
Nose,: Large, bright, clean, fresh apple, sweet cider, apple tree bark, rocks, soil.
Palette: Palette cleansing alcohol, followed with notes of fresh cider Apples, apple wood and oak, back palette predominate.
Medium finish
Used for in onions with light crushed anise seed for Moroccan spiced brisket, Apple & Honey Sangria, apples & date stuffed challah, as well as enjoyed on its own.

My first dip into Calvados, so I have no frame of reference, but very enjoyable. — 9 months ago
