La Spinetta

Cà di Pian Barbera d'Asti 2016

It is Thursday night and tonight the wine I have opened is the 2016 La Spinetta Ca' Di Pian Barbera d' Asti.

On the nose is black cherry, plum, strawberry, incense, violets, anise and earth.

On the palate there is cherry, strawberry, plum, anise, dried leaves, baking spices and wet earth.

This wine is medium to full bodied fresh clean in the mouth with medium + acidity and medium to medium+ fine mouth filling grippy tannins tha gives into a long fresh fruit earthy finish. I hope everyone's week has been a good one and let's look to the weekend to refresh. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Dark cherry/berry aromas with hints of brown leaves and menthol. Black berry/currant fruit on the pallet along with black licorice and baking spices on the medium finish. Fully extracted. Tingle of menthol as well. Smooth tannins. — 6 days ago

Cascinetta Vietti Moscato d'Asti 2019

Peach, tangerine, green apple, and a hint of ginger. Light and effervescent with bubbles, sweet but not cloying. Still my husband’s favorite no matter what I introduce him to. Easy drinking and sweet enough to withstand some spicy food. — 20 days ago

Monte Maletto

Vecchie Tonneau Erbaluce di Caluso 2018

Nose has moist alpine hay, fresh sage, lime wedge, quince, fresh fennel, wet granite sand and a light natural wine vibe with vinegar notes likely derived from a little skin contact action.

Palate initially has zoomy acidity like biting directly into a lime, but it expands to Jasmin honey, over-ripe Bosc pear, light woody notes, chewy moist chalk textures with a dry-ish finish seeming to run out endlessly. Wow, this wine has me floored with quality, what an experience!

1500 bottles produced.

Cork pulled for slow oxidation 8H, then decanted 2H, more bottle time appreciated. 2023+

May be not this red? You shipped me 2 bottles of red and 2 white. The white was very oxidized I loved it.

Nez "muscaté" sur la peche, l'abricot. Jolie petite gourmandise d'une belle fraicheur. — 8 days ago

Barbera d'Asti 2018

Bursts out of the glass, very fresh, fruity & joyful, with dark berries, cherries, a flowery note and a touch of graphite.
On the palate this is very juicy, with fresh red fruit, a dash of cherry. The acidity lively, the tannins crunchy.
This is such a joy to drink right now, but there’s some depth to it as well. And so food friendly.
Brilliant value, too! No wonder it sold out so quickly.
