Nerello Mascalese Vigne Vecchie 2007

樽感のある華やかでプラムのような甘い香りに少し熟成香。
濃度のある甘さに伸びやかでしみこむような酸。
タンニンは滑らかだが、アルコールは15%とかなり高く、ボリューム感有り。
ガイオガイオの軽やかな出汁感を想像していたが、このボリューム感は少し意外。もっと旨味系の方がよかったでけど、これはこれでなかなか良い。

Terre Siciliane Rosso Nerello Cappuccio 2015

Such a nice wine for the price...good grief. Have had a couple different nerello mascaleses from Calabretta but I think this is the first time trying Capuccio. Might have guessed an exuberantly fruity gamay from the nose. Medium body and tannins and a very nice long finish punctuated with good acid. Delicious. — 2 months ago

New Years part 2: prob should have decanted but still an amazingly alive, medium minus bodied volcanic -& smoothly edged- pinot noirish red. Methinks drink now — 2 years ago

Etna Rosso Nerello Mascalese Nerello Cappuccio 2015

This is the higher end Calabretta, even though it’s very young compared to the house blend which is several years old. This has a bit of everything: gorgeous, deep black fruits, wild raspberry coulis,  and it’s quite taut. Always the mineral driven frame. Could go years & years. Vecchie Vigne Sicilia Nerello Mascalese 2006

Fig, butterscotch, banana, cognac & alcohol dominate the nose. This wine is a monster. So intense and vibrant. Like it could not wait to be freed from the bottle. Nice tannins and acid. Flavors of biscuit, rhubarb & ripened light fruit. This wine makes you happy to love wine. Very fortunate to come across this bottle. 2006 vintage
