1999 Vintage! Color — dark garnet with hues of bricking. On the nose: plum, currants and perfume jump from the glass giving the wine its sweet age cab initial aromas followed by scents of stewed meat, earthy spices and a smoky wood cedar at the end. Taste: soft and elegant. Fruits have blended where plum and blueberry notes have integrated and currants are more faded. Secondary notes - pencil lead, tobacco, gravel and black tea follow with a tannic kick the end giving it a medium plus finish. A nice bottle to share this Valentines Day. — 3 years ago

Deep ruby/purple in color, the aromas jump out of the glass on this wine. Blackberries, vanilla, pencil lead, and a hint of black pepper, but mostly blackberries with oak. Full-bodied this wine is bringing it. Amazing balance with fruit pumping across the long finish. Tannins are there but not overbearing. This is a very big, bold wine. So good, this wine could age for at least another 5 years, but it is super enjoyable now. — 2 years ago

A treat to try this 2013 Caymus Special Selection compared to the 2002 one we tried a few nights ago. A completely different style. Dark purplish-black in color. Black plum-cherry fruits jump out of the glass and an aroma of smokey vanilla and floral notes float. Scents of toasty oak and cassis linger. Taste—bold dark berry and cherry fruits full of flavor hit the pallet with vanilla and mocha notes surfacing. Toasty oak licorice and cassis complete the medium plus finish. A big rich wine—nothing shy about it! Easy drinking on this holiday evening. — 4 years ago
