Brutal Sparkling Chenin Blanc

Brutal Babass , had at Casavant and loved it — 4 months ago

Partida Creus

Brutal Rosé Blend

Mostly reductive smoky notes and grapefruit. Not particularly distinctive or complex, but a touch of spritz and juicy acidity makes this super easy-drinking. — 4 years ago

Le Brutal de Jean-Marc Alsace Gewürztraminer Blend

Unique barnyardy aroma. Hibiscus. Super drinkable; especially in the humidity. Almost like a wild ale. Can’t wait to pick up another bottle. — 5 years ago

Les Vins Pirouettes

Le Brutal de Claude Alsace Riesling Sylvaner 2018

My first brutal!! A little bit earthy on the nose like a light rain but so much smoother than I expected. Such a nice open with cherry and a peppery finish. Great introduction to this natural wine niche. — 6 years ago

Partida Creus

BB Brutal Bestial Ancestral Bobal 2017

Unexpected. Loses effervescence quickly, drink it fast. I love partida creus! — 6 years ago

Bodega Naranjuez

Brutal Red Blend 2017

A bit too flabby for me, but the fruit is solid—just could have used a bit more acid on the finish to give it some lift. — 7 years ago

Le Coste Aleatico 2022

Fresh red berries, some effervescence and astringency. Softens and becomes a little richer as it opens up. — 7 months ago

Paul Bara

Special Club Brut Grand Cru Champagne 2014

Super enjoyable, balance but no bass note. This is all brutal acid. No mercy. — 4 years ago

Brutal!!! Red Blend 2019

Medium ruby color. Sour cherry on the nose. Hints of floral, rose petals. Low tannin. Medium-full body, almost jammy. A little acidity. A little tart on the finish.

A triumph! We had this with Thanksgiving dinner 2020.

Montepeloso

A Quo Toscana Cabernet Sauvignon Sangiovese 2017

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2017 A Quo is the only wine Montepeloso bottled in a brutal, challenging vintage in which dehydration took with it 40% of the potential crop. All of the best fruit went into the entry-level A Quo, which is positively stellar in 2017. Red cherry jam, mint, cedar and wild flowers are all wonderfully fused together in a sumptuous, racy Bolgheri red that punches well above its weight. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, March 2020)

Matassa

Brutal Red Blend 2018

This does not disappoint. Haven’t tasted a huge amount of Tom Lubbe’s wines, but have had the pleasure of meeting him. A wonderful man with great integrity. I hope one day to sit down and discover how he created this devastatingly delicious, can’t-stop-thinking-about-this, wine. The color, the nose, the palate. 10/10. — 6 years ago
