Benson Ranch Young Vine Nero d'Avola Rosato 2023

Bouquet of wild berries that brings you back to the glass again and again. Nice weight and concentration. Malo creaminess. Very unique.
Echoes of the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo I had recently.

Marchesi Antinori

Tenuta Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato Bolgheri Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2017

This was the winner of Friday night wine club by a mile; 5 1st place votes. I was fortunate to win with this and never had drank it before. The fruit on the tongue made the difference. This wine won for us because of the advice and help from Jeffrey Bell, sommelier and owner of Eleven Eleven wine shop in the Benson community of Omaha. Here is my point of recognizing Jeffery; if you are in a similar wine competition; seek out a recommendation from a professional like Jeffery. — 4 years ago

Brian Arden

Napa Valley Sangiovese 2016

Napa Valley Sangiovese? Beautiful dark garnet in color. Hints of blueberries, baking spices and dried flowers on the nose. Given where these grapes come from it is not surprising that there are great flavors of dark plums, blueberries, licorice and mint on the palate. Tannins are very refined and the acidity is very mouthwatering. A hidden gem in Calistoga! — 5 years ago

Clos du Gravillas

Sous les Cailloux des Grillons Syrah Blend 2017

A really nice wine from the Côtes du Brian area. Great fruit and acid. Earthy. Delicious with a nice thick lamb chop. Syrah, Cab, Cinsault, Carignan, Terret, Counoise, Mourvèdre, Grenache, & the kitchen sink. I’d like to try it when it’s got a couple more years in bottle. At Watershed @ The Owl — 6 years ago

Big Table Farm

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Stunning and better than most winery’s top bottlings, the 2017 ‘Willamette Valley’ Pinot Noir is another sensational wine made by one of the most underrated winemakers in North America, Brian Marcy. The nose is seductive and highly perfumed with rose petals, guava puree, cigar ash and suggestions of peat moss that all build in the glass. The wine shows off a downright sexy texture, showing a great combination of weight and minerality. Guava puree, red raspberry cordial, blood orange zest and white truffle flavors all dance on the palate. A seriously good wine, this will continue to cellar well over the next fifteen years.
