Fino Seco Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Palomino Fino

What I expect of a Fino. Sherry can be downright refreshing. The yellow apple/hay/bread notes on it all mingle gracefully. The texture is silky satin and there is a certain underlying floral nature that keeps all the other flavors from being stale. It’s like unsweet nectar in a springtime garden. If you could combine a back-to-school vibe with a spring break feeling that’s what I’m picking up here. — 24 days ago

Benje Blanco Listan Blanco 2019

Smoke and rock. Pours golden honey colored. Nose is off the charts wild and deep. Smoke with liquid rock. Palate is light compared to nose. Minerals, more rock, moderate acidity. — 17 days ago

East India Solera Sherry Palomino Fino Pedro Ximénez

Sheer fun if you aren’t up for full-on PX. Ice is okay. You do you in this (soon to be) post-pandemic world. — 9 days ago

Almacenista Manuel Cuevas Jurado Manzanilla Pasada de Sanlucar Jerez-Xérès-Sherry 1896

Despite it’s relative delicacy, a coastal old boat varnish appears on the nose. Hints at caramel( dry), and maybe ripe plantains.
Light on the palate, dry, with a honeyed finish. A nice package, a bit short on the finish.

Almacenista José Luis González Obregon Amontillado del Puerto Palomino Fino 1896

2021/4 with jamon, potato and truffle tortilla, paella, etc. This bottle was on the oxidative side of amontillado- lots of dried stone fruits, cream, and nuts - and very delicious. — a month ago
