Las 75 Vendimias de Emilio González Parcela Lagüen Garnacha Tempranillo 2016

Interesting blend of half Granacha and half Tempranillo. Light oak and as usual for Granacha a lot fruit. Dryness coming through from the Tempranillo — 25 days ago

Malleolus Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2015

A rich medley of mature berries integrated with savory spices. The wine opened quickly which added to our enjoyment of the bottle along Spain’s northern coast, but not at the expense of an overall complexity that remained with the wine. This wine is ready for consumption now IMO. — 2 months ago

Very Rare Oloroso Emperatriz Eugenia Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Palomino Fino

What you get for the extra $10 (and 250ml less) from Emperatriz Eugenia is massive compared to the entry Don Nuno (both Oloroso). Depth, complexity, something to think about. Mahogany caramel colored with aromas of sandalwood and sweet dates. Winey sweet palette of dried figs, golden raisins, and burnt toffee. — 2 months ago

Tumba del Rey Moro Sierra de Gredos Madrid Garnacha 2015

Just outside Mardid, in the Sierra del Gredos lies the Tumba del Rey Moro Vineyard. Until a few years ago, this site was almost impossible to access, until Fernando García & Dani Landi spent several months removing brush and overgrowth in order to be able to farm the 60-70 year old vines planted to the granite and quartz soils. This 100% Garnacha is simply gorgeous, with a incredible silky, polished texture, and the elegance and refinement that easily rivals some of the finest wines on the planet. Its characteristics of wild berries, floral, spices, earth and herbs are pure and focused. It continues to thoroughly impress with its wonderful precision and balance through the long finish. While this is certainly impressive now, in due time, this could be something very special. — a month ago
