A Valentines Day tipple with the missus and what a beautiful Champagne it was. Pale Lemon in colour with an ultra fine persistent bead. Aromas of sweet citrus, Nougat, mineral, toast, honey and stone fruit which transfer through to the palate. Needless to say marvellous complexity in this 100% Chardonnay. Fermented in stainless steel and given a full malolactic fermentation. Dosage 4.5 grams per Litre. Disgorged October 2016. One of the 1001 wines and a wonderful treat from Champagne’s oldest firm. Made entirely from Chardonnay Grand Crus. — 3 days ago
A Demi-Sec, Medium lemon with stone & tropical fruit aromas, biscuit notes, tiny bubbles with a light mousse. On the palate, this 100% Chardonnay, sourced from Grand Cru vineyards, shows ripe fruits, pear, mango and apple, light with underlining sweetness. Medium finish, crisp, ending with yeasty tones. Nice if you like your bubbly with a touch of sweetness. Grab this sweet for your Sweetie on Valentines Day. — 7 days ago
We visited Ployer-Jacquemart last month and shipped two bottles of this B-d-B among other wines. I wish we had shipped more. It drank better than I remembered it to be. Toasty, fresh and effervescent and we’ll structured. The extra brut even seemed to have mellowed. An underrated champagne. — 2 days ago
Celebrating my son’s first #birthday certainly merits the serving of some lovely wine 🍾🍷 What a wonderfully challenging yet humbling year it’s been raising a tiny baby into a little boy with a big heart, a loud laugh, and a captivating smile. I hope and pray today’s celebration is but one of many chapters.
Second time having this ‘08 Chouilly Grand Cru BdB and wow...it was bangin’ this time around. Phenomenal vintage, fantastic wine. So pure, balanced, and seamless. — 6 days ago
This wine is closed down right now - needs more time in bottle to find itself and open up. It’s still beautiful but there’s so much hiding underneath. — a day ago
What a lovely wine. It has definition and nerve that balances out its impressive breadth, especially given the racing acid across all parts of the mouth. Lemon pith, tart apple, crushed chalk, hazelnut, Emmentaler rind, salted ham, hay. There’s a kiss of something aldehydic in there, but I like the complexity it brings. This has gained some nice development. 100 CH 4/2017 disgorgement — 2 days ago
Nose is stingingly mineral. Some brioche. Some green apple.
Palate has some very good clean fruit. Nice yeast. Mineral but not super mineral. Very fresh. Almost like the best clean green apple ever. Like an heirloom green apple.
This is a very well made wine for what it is. For under $50 it’s a good deal. Over that it’s not complex enough to justify the price.
I dont know why I’m having this with sausage and peppers. It’s been that kind of day.

Had this over a year ago, this batch was disgorge in June 2019. One of my Fav’s! Fruit and floral bouquet, with biscuit and chalky minerals. Fine bubbles, nice mousse, showing quality. Outstanding rich flavors of peach, lemon and honey, well balanced, good structure, creamy ending with toasty oak, mineral and yeasty notes on a long finish. Very consistent quality. Nice! Grab one for Valentine’s Day. — 7 days ago
