I’m getting some brown sugar, butterscotch like aroma with big impressions of black cherry. Found a basil like note with some fig. A solid syrupy body upfront. Lots of acid, tannins and heat on the finish. Not surprised with the high alcohol content. A punchy and fun wine, looking forward to sharing it with people. — 4 years ago
My favorite varietally true expression of Cabernet Sauvignon from Happy Canyon - Santa Ynez Valley. Very nicely balanced acidity and ripeness not overdone. Very expressive dark fruit and some woody herbs. Decanted and consumed hours later. Fine grained tannin and restrained more so than most common SYV producers. This wine stands apart as a very balanced Cab without being “big” yet still offering plentiful fruit and beautiful bouquet. — 6 years ago
On the nose, this is very fresh black cherry... On the palate, that cherry plays alongside big, juicy, thick-skinned black plums. Something earthy here... Dried sage? The finish has some complexity in that here I taste a few more things like licorice root including its "bark" like what Dutch people chew. The tannins throughout I find wonderfully balanced with the fruit here. I really like this one. — 3 years ago
2002 vintage in January 2021. This is in a great place. Fully mature with big red fruit and balancing earth. Fruit is fully mature and developed some additional characteristics but still very hedonistic for a wine this age. At a peak/plateau with stuffing to keep going but why wait? Do it! — 4 years ago
Awesome big bold Napa style cab, drank with dinner at the Ritz Carlton Bacara with Dave and Kat — 4 years ago

Big wine. Black olives and herbs. Probably should have had it with dinner. Would have been so good with a chop or bolognese. — 5 months ago
