2004 at Easter 2022. Color very good. Decanted and drunk. Just some fine sediment. Strong fruit on the front though a bit short and drying on the back. Nice wine with still some structure and a good food complement. — 3 years ago
2002 tastes in January 2022. Good red fruit to go with plenty of structure. Not yet showing leather or other tertiary aromas. Very good length. I would say still a bit angular but has plenty of sweet fruit to last out the tannin. Really good and tastes 10 years younger. Have a magnum of this and will let it sit 5+ years but expect a sublime experience. — 3 years ago
2002 vintage in November 2021. Still holding fruit in the front, good color, and a pleasant bottle of wine. After being open a half hour it showed some fatigue and became a bit drying in the back. Probably a little past it’s prime but still good with a steak. — 3 years ago
1986 vintage opened 1-14-23. Base neck fill. Owned since buying in 1988. Opened with a Durand. Cork moist to top. Decanted and only fine sediment in the dregs. Color really strong, no bricking at edge but you could see just a bit of rust in the overall color. Still opaque. Musty at first but lots of great mature aroma and leather after 20 minutes. Lasted an hour in the decanter and got more smooth. Don’t look for fruit but a great accompaniment to the dinner of a braised chicken with pancetta and tomatoes. — 2 years ago
Gets your attention with very big forward fruit. Huge mouthful. 2005 tasted in January 2022. Some complexity has crept in with cedar and a little leather but this is still mostly primary in my book. Fun wine that makes you take a second look. It is very big. Enjoyable with a good steak. Would overpower a lot of things. — 3 years ago
2017 in November 2021. I find Peay to make the best balanced Chardonnay in CA. This one is ready to drink and just flows right through your mouth. Solid classic Chardonnay fruit but no noticeable oak. Great backbone to support food. Had with veal francese. Will hold a couple more years too. — 3 years ago
2010 on Easter 2022. Decanted and drunk. This is a very big wine with still a lot of structure and tannin. Awesome deep blue and black fruit with firm tannin. Wish I had decanted and back into the bottle early in the day. This would be better tomorrow for sure. Really glad I have 5 left. Will try again with double decant in a few months. — 3 years ago
2009 tasted in January 2022. Really good mature California Pinot. Dried cherry and some earth. Nose keeps you coming back for more. Translucent color belies it’s intensity and medium body. Excellent with a baby Bella mushroom sauce over chicken. — 3 years ago
2008 tasted in January 2022. Decanted but no real sediment. Initially had some funky aroma that blew off quickly. Had with salmon and was a great accompaniment. Lots of earthy and mushroom but strong dried cherry through all. Still long and firm acid backbone. Lasted an hour plus in the decanter. Great surprise. Did I say very long? Light/medium body. Translucent color. — 3 years ago

2007 Caravina in April 2023. Has held up well and a pretty good wine. Medium body, fruit holding, color strong. Has the Seavey minerals as well. A bit hot in the finish (15.2 percent plus age). Drink up for sure. — 2 years ago
