Lovely chilled red. Bright blueberry fruit, yeasty, slight tartness, and very refreshing! — 3 years ago
Left over bottle. Lacking complexity but otherwise fine. — 6 months ago
Lemon, slate, herbs, a touch of wet wool at first but it blew off. Vibrant and long. — 2 years ago
Colour is as black as night with a crimson rim. A little reduction stink on the nose with earthy burnt cinders. On the palate intense red and black fruits of raspberry, mulberry and black plum. A wine from a warm climate in Cotes du Rouissillon. With time more sweet raspberry fruit on the palate. Mainly Syrah with some Grenache and Mourvèdre. Carries its 15.5% ABV with ease. — 5 months ago

Presented to me double-blind. The wine appears a deep burnished golden color with medium+ viscosity. Notes of baked apples, white flowers, chamomile minerals and a petrol thing. On the palate, medium+ acid. Confirming the fruit but the apples are spiced and there’s a slightly nutty, oxidized thing going. Alcohol seems elevated too. Loads of character. The color and oxidization suggested it was a combo of style and age; I figured 10-15 years. I vacillated between Alsatian Riesling GC or a Chenin from the Loire by a great producer. Ultimately, I called 2010 Savennières as it actually reminded me of Joly’s “Clos de la Bergerie”. LOL! Close!!! These Huet Sec’s age amazing 🥲. — 3 years ago
