Cyrus-Ryan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

The great debate - Cyrus Ryan or Rattlesnake as king of Spring Mountain. Rattlesnake has a little more power but I always find CR to be intriguing. The cotton candy notes are ever present and completely unique. — 2 months ago

Delectable Wine
8.9

Good dark red. Subdued, rather loamy aromas of red plum, currant, mocha and tobacco leaf. Fine-grained, supple and vinous, but its moderate fruit sweetness is reduced by menthol and herb character. The wine's substantial broad, dusty tannins turn a bit dry, even peppery, on the back end. But this Cabernet still retains good savory energy, and a subtle sweetness to its red fruit flavors. Napa Valley Merlot 2016

Haven’t had this in 9 months - blind tasted and thought it was taking on some cab-like characteristics.. Really enjoyable merlot. — 7 months ago

What a super fun and unique wine. I’ve enjoyed some of the chenins and Mourvèdre from D&R but this was my first merlot from them. Beautifully sweetened red fruit with new potpourri aromatics...insanely perfumed. Crunchy cranberry, high acidity and a mix of baking spice/herbs. Deliciously easy to drink. @Shay A : I agree with you, there wines are unusual and fun. Try the Mourvèdre from D&R.

@Bryan Kesting : I need to snag a few of their bottles and try them for sure. Never see them around town, so I guess I need to sign up on their list.

Excellent producer - this is just behind the cab franc for me. Light on its feet with a slurry of red fruits. — 2 months ago

Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Nice Pinot for sure, but still prefer the merlot and cab franc from Barnett. A solid drinker for around $60. — 5 months ago

November’s 4th Friday was a big hit. There is no way I’ll be able to upload all the wines, nor give them the reviews they deserve, but there were a few worthy of mentioning!

New wine to me but right up my Syrah alley. Not as much funk driven as it is savory driven. Leaps from the glass with whole cluster aromatics of stems, sweet peppercorn spice, and very pure rhubarb tart. Light on the palate with added floral notes, smoked meat, iron and a finish of black pepper. Would like to try this again. Thanks

I shoot you a text if I see anything. I’ve seen it in there plenty of times. Kogod sells the traditional grand cru for around $90

I know Clare can get it for around $99-100. I’m trying to find it below $90, and with no shipping.
