Lots of blackberry and raspberry deliciousness in this. We smell slate and graphite and earthy goodness. — a year ago
Good dark red. Subdued, rather loamy aromas of red plum, currant, mocha and tobacco leaf. Fine-grained, supple and vinous, but its moderate fruit sweetness is reduced by menthol and herb character. The wine's substantial broad, dusty tannins turn a bit dry, even peppery, on the back end. But this Cabernet still retains good savory energy, and a subtle sweetness to its red fruit flavors. What a super fun and unique wine. I’ve enjoyed some of the chenins and Mourvèdre from D&R but this was my first merlot from them. Beautifully sweetened red fruit with new potpourri aromatics...insanely perfumed. Crunchy cranberry, high acidity and a mix of baking spice/herbs. Deliciously easy to drink. November’s 4th Friday was a big hit. There is no way I’ll be able to upload all the wines, nor give them the reviews they deserve, but there were a few worthy of mentioning!
New wine to me but right up my Syrah alley. Not as much funk driven as it is savory driven. Leaps from the glass with whole cluster aromatics of stems, sweet peppercorn spice, and very pure rhubarb tart. Light on the palate with added floral notes, smoked meat, iron and a finish of black pepper. Would like to try this again. Thanks @Arden Barnett — 7 months ago
