Cinnamon. Pretty hot. Debated fruit as apricot or cherry… — 7 months ago
The label had me at “Carignan”; Sandlands version has me drooling at the prospects of this varietal. Missing lots of bad things, (thus the brand name “without” in French, non?) but also sourced from dry farmed old vines (ESG to the max). Dense dark red, high pigment extraction. Fresh cherry, raspberry aroma, slightly fizzy mouthfeel (no added sulfites, remember). Moderate skin astringency on finish but nice red fruit flavors. Not bad but not for aging, drink them young. On the tannic side for what might otherwise be a light fresh wine. Reminds me of that cute kid trying too hard to act all grown up, and can’t quite pull it off yet, but it has potential in future iterations. Keep them coming! Then again, an hour after opening, it drinks well, all grown up. More patience on my part, perhaps — 6 months ago
Had to pop this bad boy to make room for the other 12 bottles that arrived today…..glad we did. @Brad Saarloos and @Greg Saarloos are growing right before our eyes!!! — 8 months ago
Wow a surprise. Dark purple color and dark fruits and savory notes resembling a northern Rhone. Still lively texture and long finish. Yum. Storied vineyard. #2687 of 3000 made. 21 percent Voignier! Back barcode label says drink 2009-2010, ha, how wrong! AA14. Too bad only bottle! — a year ago
Solidly terrific. If you can’t get on the Ultramarine list then get these bad boys. — 7 months ago
Not bad. Too fruit forward for a French. Pass. — 9 months ago

What can I say? Pleasure in a glass. I just really love me my Bedrock Evangelho and this vintage in particular. Intoxicating aromas of cinnamon, cigar box, sweet berry fruit and dried thyme/rosemary/mint. Full bodied and ripe, but really fine, silty (as opposed to silky) tannins give it structure and there is ample acid there providing a punchy freshness. Most surprisingly of all, is this wine’s deceptively light touch. I’m tempted to polish off the bottle in one sitting, but at 14.5% abv that would be a bad idea. Pair with Snoop’s half time show performance (we just won’t tell him that this puts his 19 Crimes to shame) Prior notes apply. — 4 months ago
