Poggio alla Sala

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Parceto Sangiovese 2019

Pretty color of ruby with a wide reddish rim.

Nose of red cherries, plums, raspberries, currants, light oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, earth and black tea.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, light oak, licorice, light vanilla, earth, light dried fruits, leather, herbs and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This is a delicious Sangiovese from Montepulciano. Fruity, with earth notes to compliment it. Elegant and rich.

Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel, and good by itself as a sipping wine.

This 5 year old Single Vineyard is showing a great nose already, and feels much older than it is.

Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.

I had an older vintage of this wine and it showed wonderfully. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

100% Sangiovese grapes from 40 year old vines were aged in French oak barrels for 30 months. A small production of only 3,000 bottles made.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

Castello della Sala Cervaro della Sala Umbria Chardonnay Grechetto 2022

Well done….for wood lovers! A good wine, but the taste of a bit too much barrique express the goal to make a international wine ( mainly America) not one who express the terroir of Umbria. — 4 months ago
