🍷 Personal Pick
This is Pauillac done right, deep fruit, flawless execution, and a finish that feels complete and satisfying rather than forced. A wine that earns admiration through balance and quiet authority. Hard to pass, even harder to forget. — 5 months ago

Grassy, green apple, not too sour. One of hubs’ favs. — 6 years ago
For the money this is a gem, little sweet lacking some acidity but on a hot day I’d gladly drink this. — 7 years ago

Had with lunch in Quebec City. 2016 was wonderful and still bright red. — 8 months ago
The quality of these many and varied Henschke cuvées never ceases to amaze. Just brief notes - not as much spice as Mount Edelstone and Hill of Grace. This is from the Barossa and provides a point of difference to their big guns in the Eden Valley. A more full bodied palate showing black and blue fruits and liquorice - not so much the sage and black pepper that shows on their Eden Valley reds. — 2 years ago
Great dessert wine — 4 years ago
The 2018 is once again a very herbal expression. On the nose, tomato plant is already making itself known along with pear and starfruit. Bright and alive but with a palate again showcasing that tomato plant and green fruit. Not overly acidic here. — 5 years ago

Excellent with red meat. We loved it — 7 years ago

Amazing $20 Pinot Noir from New Zealand. Bold fruit flavor and long intense finish. Not as elegant as a more expensive Pinot Noir but a brilliant wine for very little cost. — 5 months ago
Deep red/black color with a thin garnet meniscus. Aromas of petroleum (in a good way), ripe and dried black fruit, dried violets, leather and cedar. Flavors of graphite/iron, dried blackberries, black currants, smoked meat, dried blueberries, tobacco and Asian spices. Hint of black pepper on the long and drawn out finish. Soft tannins and well balanced acidity. Medium bodied, rich and plush. Extremely savory and best with food. Well aged bottle. It was time to enjoy it. Appreciate the gift, Mark S! — 7 months ago
It is a dark wine, one which lets very little light pass through. The nose displays more fruit than oak, which is a good sign if you plan to chill it and serve it outside. Blackberry, raspberry, cassis, anise all shine brightly, with light notes of clove and cinnamon. The palate is clean and fresh, with the dark fruit taking a bow. The tannins are maybe a little firm for an outdoor meal under the sun, but the acidity is brisk and refreshing. — 3 years ago
Brings back so many memories, and the significant taste is real. When you have been to the estate, you wil never forget this taste. You hate it or you love it. — 5 years ago

What a phenomenal bottle! Could not believe just how rich and deep the flavors of red and purple fruits, baking spices and leather was - especially considering the age. Velvety tannins offered a sublime mouthfeel. Don't pass this up if you get a chance to taste it. — 8 years ago
