Armadillo's Leap

Baldacci Family Vineyards

Black Label Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Little comparative tasting between the 17’ and 12’ vintages:
2017- deep ruby color. Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, flint and cedar. Youthful wine, loads of black fruit on the palate, spice and vanilla notes.
2012- deep ruby with garnet rim. Aromas of blackberry and blueberry. Black currant and leather and oak finish. Solid.

Hands of Time Napa Valley Red Wine 2015

Quite deep ruby , with thin ruby garnet rim. Quite rich and decadent on the nose , plum , ripe cassis , oak , blackberry , coffee and dark chocolate . On the palate again rich and quite sweet , with dark plum , cassis , blackberry and coffee hints . There are some spice notes and chocolate richness on the medium length finish . The alcohol is a little noticeable, just balanced acidity and quite fine , polished tannins . Unapologetically juicy and quite rich , if lacking a little complexity. Though this will age ok , I would prefer to drink over the next 5 -7 years . β€” 10 hours ago

Elevage Stags Leap District Merlot Blend 2019

Blend of about 39% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Petit Verdot with the rest Cabernet Franc, aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak, deep Ruby, purple edges with aromas of dark red fruits, oak and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and currants with cacao and herb spice. Full dusty tannins, opens nicely, long finish ending with fruit, oak, vanilla spice and mineral character. Nice! Drinking well now, will still age. β€” 8 days ago

The Investor Napa Valley Red Blend 2020

Strong and rich on the nose. Needed some time to open up and let the alcohol dance itself out to expose the ripe flavors of Bacchus. Ends spicy and dry apropos for a rigatoni alla puttanesca. Not worth the price tag. β€” 11 days ago

@Jay Kline For sure. We've had some '78 Petite Sirah direct from the winery cellar, amazing stuff. I would have liked to open a CASK 23, but they're all responsibly in off-site storage. SLV seemed like the appropriate pull since it was a Spurrier tasting wine back in the day.
@Norman Gennaro Thanks πŸ™

Moonracer Cabernet Sauvignon

My son says it’s a 98-99pt. I’m saying 97 since I wanted a bit more of a finish punch. With just a bit of air this opened up wonderfully. Really great wine, plush on the mouth, rich and strong cab flavors. β€” a month ago

Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of rich berry fruit, floral and slight spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and blueberry with floral spice, warm integrated vanilla oak and earthy cinnamon. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice, vanilla oak and soft earthy notes, nice now, will still develop. A nice fillet mignon with Cabernet gravy will go well. β€” a month ago
