2025 vintage. Super-intriguing. Not the cheapest white blend but this shreds. Can go a few years if you wanna add some age but wouldn't go farther than a half-decade as that would eliminate the preshie freshie qualities entirely. Light-medium body. It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Red and black fruits on the nose with tobacco, light wood, licorice, chocolates, black pepper, herbs and spices.

Full bodied and soft with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, sweet raspberries, coffee, sweet oak, chocolates, licorice, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, earth and mediterranean spices.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 4 year old Super Tuscan Merlot is drinking very nicely now. Nicely balanced and elegant. Complex and entertaining.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, and balance itself out.

Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.

Wine Spectator 94 points.

I had the 2021 vintage a couple of years ago at the winery, and it was much better. The 2022 vintage was not as good as the 2021, so there's that.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.

100% Merlot grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

14% alcohol by volume.

Light yellow color. Aromas of green orchard fruit, white flowers and citrus. Flavors of peaches, nectarines, tropical fruit, green apples, lemon curd, raw almonds and a very pleasing saline note. Beautiful note of minerality on the long finish. Medium-minus body (but still a bit of heft) and refreshing acidity. Lovely silky texture for such a crisp wine. Outstanding QPR. Super Tuscan blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Cabernet Franc (29%) and Merlot (13%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of red and black fruit, anise,purple flowers and leather. Flavors of black cherry/plum/berry fruit, black licorice, cocoa powder and sweet baking spices. Lovely mineral and minty tones on the long and lingering finish. Silky tannins and a velvety texture. 30 mins of air, just opened not decanted.
Very nice indeed though with burgers at home. You can sense the viscosity on the nose, black and blue fruits, licorice and some feral meaty bits in the background.
Drinks exceptionally smoothly, most of the tannins resolved. The viscosity on the palate is balanced by enough acidity to keep it in balance. Black/blue fruits repeat with a hint of chewiness, coating is an understatement. Long finish. Leather and coal tar(?). Interesting that these have such a decently long lifespan. When kept on some ice/water during the meal, it improves as a whole as the temperature drops a few degrees. The thickness recedes a bit and acidity shines up front.
Shame I have no more.
