Settled in. The exuberant Riesling fruit settled down. I am not sure. Preferred this wine when young. More later. Grown on granite in Durbach a little village on the slope of the black forest. Stonefruit, hint peach, lemon. — 2 months ago
2nd to last bottle of a long line up in a summer dinner, & showed I thought rather spectacularly between a Petit Chablis & the only red of the night. Paired with local, rich cow cheese- the more vibrant round & traminer- like richness of the varietal came alive as a result. Plus the smoky mineral endive fennel notes made even more clear. Made me rethink how to serve this wine w food, & when. — a month ago
Wow. Like laible on steroids.
Nose: smoky minerals. Like throwing stream water on a hot smooth rock.
Palate : very dense. Intense. Really good. Mineral blast. Perfect lemon.
Lacks the complexity for me to push it into the 9.6+ realm but fantastically delicious.

Classic Austrian red nose with dark fruit (plums!) and a pinch of allspice & cloves.
Medium bodied, nicely balanced and with a juicy tannic frame filled by ripe plums & cherries. Good depth & nice purity. Plus a long finish. What’s not to like? — 5 months ago

From vineyard to my cellar, drinking wonderfully, great blended fruit that has mellowed, good acidity… great finish… drinking very well, couple years left but not much longer IMO! — a month ago
