Castello di Amorosa Voyager Vineyard Napa Valley Sangiovese 2018, California
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. A pretty color.
On the nose cooked cherries, plums, currants, earth, herbs, oak, vanilla, licorice, light vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, a touch of honeysuckle and black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with blueberries, sweet cherries, plums, oak, light tobacco, vanilla, dark chocolates, pencil lead, earth, herbs, coffee and peppercorn.
Tangy finish with soft tannins.
This is a very interesting red wine from Napa Valley. Tangy and elegant. Complex and soft.
Fruit-forward and better with food. A good quality wine that will age nicely in the next 10 years.
Still young and will be interesting to try it again in 3 years.
This Single Vineyard needs time to open up. I gave it 2 hours to let it show the complexity.
100% Sangiovese grapes were aged for 18 months in (35% New) French oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Wrong wine listed. Pet Nat and it was superb, favourite one to date!
Tropical fruit, sherbet fizz, depth of flavour. Went down to easily but had good complexity. — a year ago
One of half a dozen. Perhaps on the decline but still showing the gorgeous Margaret River fruit and gravelly tannin. Perfect for sipping on a Saturday night. — 2 months ago
One of our favorite. $22 at Voyager — 8 months ago
Clear, deep garnet colour. Clean, pronounced blackcurrant and chocolate aromas. Dry with high acidity and tannins that are beautifully balanced and smooth. Full bodied with a long finish. Juicy blackcurrant, chocolate and mocha with a lovely vanilla flavour. An outstanding wine and a marvellous accompaniment to rack of lamb. — a year ago
Another delicious bottle. Even after being open a few days it's drinking smooth and full bodied with no off flavors or smells. I think we will have to go back and get a case of this. — 8 months ago

Happy hour at Voyager (11/1/19). Crisp and dry, had notes of apple and floral (that last one might be b/c of that lady’s perfume...) Very nice, had two glasses. Went well with oysters and buttered hush puppies. — 2 years ago
