Year-in-year-out such a solid performer. Can age, if you can keep your hands off it - but so good now.

Juicy, dry and sinewy. Nicely balanced blend, restrained but approachable. Was good over 5 days too. Sample

Distinct pencil/graphite on the nose along with dark red fruit, and maybe lavender or geraniums. Restrained cherry, blackberries, and a hint of raspberry on the palate. Good tannins and acidity. Could drink now or put away for another year or so. Purchased K&L for around $20

Girt by the sea means "surrounded by the sea", which is a great description and an homage to where this comes from. Nose is initially oaky, leading to a dusty rose/perfumed quality. Flavors are cherry, currant. Blend is 74% cab, 25% merlot, 1% shiraz.
