In such an amazing place. A perfect bottle. There is youthful power and verve and an incredible depth and seamlessness of vibrant fruit layered with minerality, pastry cream, roasted hazelnuts and an ocean spray-like salinity. It’s texturally captivating, wrapping around the palate with killer density without weight. Racy acids balance its richness and secondary nuttiness and it finishes forever. White burg at its finest. — 19 days ago
heavy reduction and a blast of spritziness. Matchsticks and bright lemon with a hint of marzipan. Salinity and a slight metallic bitterness on the finish that spoils the overall somewhat. Maybe age will mellow it? — 22 days ago
@Ira Schwartz I real don’t know. I realize oak usage is gaining popularity in Chablis. I just don’t know who plays in what camp so I can have a better idea what to expect.
Fantastic. This one’s drinking great right now. Good structure and acidity, with bright cherry and the slightest hint of dried fruit. Earthy, pairs well with duck confit. Excellent. — 13 days ago
More evolved than the 2016 opened with it, this seems to have hit its plateau of maturity, showing lovely sweet butter notes up front with solid mineral and lemon-lime undertones, long, lingering finish with great acidity still, lovely!! — 2 months ago
