Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso 2018

Good white but is it textbook? Too new to know for this grape in Piedmont. Loads of SO2 as @Cathy Corison noted, let this blow off in a decanter in the fridge for an hour or shake it before you pour it! — 5 days ago

Vigna Scarrone Barbera d'Alba 2015

Fantastic! Nose of caramel, licorice, dark fruit and earth. Flavors of black fruit, vanilla, herbs, earth. Medium to full bodied, it is young, so it needs some air to open up but your patience will be rewarded. — 4 years ago

Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo 1973

I’ve read that 73 was an elegant vintage. Not for long term cellaring. For me, this is totally peaking. It definitely improved with decanting and the last sip was the best. Great bottle that was bought from winery on release and stored in Alba until it was sold with a cellar. Fortunate to track down this 💎 — 3 years ago

I know! How long do you recommend holding on to it for?

@Christopher Boucher 90% of drinkers would prefer opening in the next 5 years (open today with a long decant and let evolve in the glass). People of the Tertiary wouldn’t mind another 10-20 years.
