Warm with a little buttery finish. Well balance — 5 years ago
This was just gorgeous - so elegant, so much style, and I believe this will only improve w/age due to impressive concentration & balance. Ripe black & red fruit, whirlwind of tertiary notes - just kept evolving. Smooth, finely grained tannins & suave acidity. — 9 days ago
24% Cab Sauv, 44% Merlot, 32% Malbec. 2016 “Valentina”. A very balanced wine. Some dark cherry and vanilla on the nose with the winemaker’s note of “black tea” holding true. Nice body to it. Subtle tannins with a smooth lingering finish. Hooray Idaho! — 4 years ago

Excellent, earthy start developing into deep berries. — 3 years ago
One of the highlights in this range, the 2017 Syrah is positively stellar. Black pepper, sage, lavender, blackberry and menthol give the wine layers of nuance, with an extra kick of aromatic intensity from the 100% whole clusters. Dense and yet also light on its feet, the 2017 has so much to offer. Once again, Tegan Passalacqua has crafted a decidedly old-school Santa Lucia Highlands Syrah. Bright red. Vibrant sour red cherry, citrus peel, floral and anise scents boast good clarity and offer a spicy nuance. Clean and fresh on entry, then fleshier in the middle, but surprisingly lean and taut on the back end, offering juicy, sweet and sour orange and strawberry flavors. Finishes long and racy, with lingering spiciness. There’s just a trace of dilution in the middle or my score would have been even higher. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, June 2018)

Mostly greco, mostly pear and pineapple. Refreshing, I could drink 3 bottles accidentally. — a day ago
