Gantenbein

Pinot Noir 2018

One of the best Pinot Noirs for me. Love the concentration. Has nothing to do with the classic Pinot from Burgundy — 4 days ago

Domaine de Beudon

Riesling x Sylvaner 2007

14-year old Müller-Thurgau. Apricot on the nose. Palate is low acid, chewy stone fruit and a slug of diesel. Bitter almond, citrus oil. Love these wines. — a year ago

Les Murettes Fendant Chasselas 2019

Fendant is what Chesselas is known as in the Swiss region of Valais, where this wine is produced. Took a long while to open up. Light gold color. Aromas of baked yellow apple and uncooked pie dough. A hint of white flowers after aeration. Pallet also features yellow apple, (more in the raw form) pears and vanilla. Mineral notes on the long and crisp finish. Vibrant acidity and creamy texture. I would decant this wine next time. — 10 days ago

Fläscher Chardonnay 2018

Not only the best Swiss Chardonnay but worldwide. Smokey, chalky, long burn wonderful. Too little available and even less to get your hands on. Puts many burgundies to shame. — 5 months ago

Cayas Valais Syrah 2015

Hints of smoke, deep fruit, bit of chocolate. Some real depth. Mild integrated tannins. A very nice Syrah. — 9 months ago

Pilgrim Pinot Noir 2020

Lyle Fass
9.5

Complex nose of spice and lovely cherries. Some charred wood. Complex and deep minerality. Really compelling aromas. Herbal, medicinal. Silky, sweet and elegant. Complex, energetic and intense with lovely and complex tannins. Closed. Grippy. Good acids and freshness. But tannins maybe a bit much? Will they integrate more? Juicy and clean.

After 6 hours this went from a 9.1 to a 9.5. Nose is crazy floral and exotic with stunning cherry flower. Superb earthiness and leafiness. Sweet fruit and finesse and so linear. Nimble and elegant. Sappy and pure. Long finish.
