Magnificent junction between Burgundy and Beaujolais, with this light red, floral, red fruits, gamay (?) that pinote splendidly. Bright acidity, finely persistent tannins; perfectly the type of wine that my palate loves.
Magnifique croisement entre Bourgogne et Beaujolais, avec ce rouge léger, floral, fruits rouges, gamay (?) qui pinote assurément. Acidité vives, tanins finement persistants; parfaitement le type de vin dont mon palais raffole. — 12 days ago
Wow. This just is incredible on pop and pour.
Nose is just this incredibly seductive swirl of cherry flower, licorice flower and library book. So elegant.
Palate is literally perfect fresh cherry juice. Echoes of cherry liquor soak the palate on the finish. Elite level silly elegance. Freshness is explosive. The palate impact is incredible. Just hits it like a high pressure hose. Floral notes just sing over the fruit. Texture like silk. As this aerates you get hints of chocolate.
This is a magnificent wine. It’s delicious now. But it will be over the top in 7-10 years.

The 2019 Chardonnay Trout Gulch is fabulous. Palpable energy and tension drive a core of crushed rocks, lemon confit, mint and white flowers. Intensely saline, tense notes really bristle in this magnificent Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay. The 2019 is naturally very young, but it is stellar. Dried flowers, sage, mint and dried herbs linger. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)

Skin contact, smokey, typical RSA: fin bos, no fruits, dry herbs. Magnificent. — 13 days ago
I bought this bottle 5 years ago for 16 EUR and I'm not sure about the current pricetag but man what a bargain it was. I had to dig deep into my cellar to pull this one but I'm so glad I did..
This is unlike anything I know from that region.
The nose is blood orange and olive and garrigue. The palate is magnificent. A very strong acid backbone, a very dry mouthfeel with those blood orange notes all along. A huge width and an soft mouthfeel, a power house of a mid palate with carressing tannins which create a drying layer, and eventually a very long, everlasting finish with that blood orange note which turns into blood orange peel in the end with a tiny bitter twist. This is greatness before my eyes (and tastebuds) — 8 days ago
The ‘17 vintage of Sixmilebridge’s Estate Cuvée has a deep purple color and a deep, rich nose that shows sweet plum, blackberry and cassis notes. The minerals show up strong as well, providing a savory backdrop for the magnificent fruit. The oak treatment comes across perfectly, with a wonderful sweetness imparted along with some touches of leather and tobacco. On the palate, the dark fruit flavors are in control as the minerals chase them. Acidity is bright and the tannins, while they may have softened, are still quite aggressive upon opening. Let it sit for an hour or so and they tend to settle down. — a month ago
The 2018 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard is even better from bottle than it was from tank last year. What a wine! In 2018, the Carlisle Zinfandel is off the charts. Exotic floral notes, crushed red berry fruit, spice and wild flowers give the 2018 magnificent inner sweetness and perfume that just gains in intensity with time in the glass. The blend of 86% Zinfandel and 14% Mixed Blacks works so well. For readers who want to know why 2018 is so magical in the Russian River and Sonoma more broadly, the 2018 Carlisle pretty much sums it up. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2021)
