Well balanced. Similar to Chablis. Will buy again — 3 days ago
Time Tested
03 was historically hot & dry. Did Monprivato succeed despite these conditions?
DAY 1
Served the wine with the Vinloq System which allows nitrogen to be pulled into the bottle with pouring
👀Brown/orange mixed with red
👃Cherries, tobacco, tar & roses. Some stewed/dried fruit
👅Mature. Florals and fruit are present. Light. Could use more acid. Easy to drink. Balanced
Remaining wine Slow Decanted in my fridge
DAY 10
Nice aged notes. Savory. Okay precision. Tannins are good. Kept improving in the glass
DAY 17
👃Classic & beautiful with aged notes. Finally what I was hoping for👍
👅Drinking well. Cherry. Significant tar. Savory
Similar on the 3 days, but the nose was most beautiful on DAY 17
The pedigree was apparent here in this lovely barolo despite the vintage conditions. Balance was retained with enough precision to allow the Mascarello Monprivato personality to come through👏 — 10 days ago
Grapes sourced from 2 vineyards, high altitude sandy souls in Vera d’Alba & Renesio Incisa cru in Canale. Originally called "Nebbiolo bianco" due to the shape of the bunch and the size of the berries similar to Nebbiolo. Pale lemon with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with herb notes. On the palate flavors of lemon, apple and herb character. Medium finish, lively acidity balance, ending with creamy citrus and mineral character. Nice value! — a month ago
It’s either bottle variation or that the 2+ months of rest time has done this wonders. It was so different from the first bottle. This was all red berries, menthol, tobacco, and spice. Good energy, though the warmth does come through. Chewy tannins with a bittersweet finish, touched by some mineral and woody elements. Enjoyable, though I would have liked some floral notes. — 5 days ago
Grapefruit and rocks — 7 days ago
Another solid vintage of this consistently great Barbaresco. This vintage seemed fuller and richer than many others. Beautiful nose of dried cherry, freshly turned soil, tobacco and tar. Touch of spice. Expressive pallet features dried cherry and raspberry, leather, black tea, balsamic vinegar. Hint of mint, orange and toasted nuts on the finish. Lively and fresh tasting. Solid value. Thank You Kasey and Petey! — 4 days ago
WOW!!! Beautiful ruby color with a bit of garnet around the rim. Beautiful aromas of black fruit, rose petals, vanilla and spices. Black cherry, plum, pepper spice fill the pallet. Touch of eucalyptus on the finish. Elegant and refined. Tannins are there but firmly in check. Outstanding! Thank you so much Kasey and Petey! — 4 days ago
