Les Grands Blancs Extra Brut Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay

Some of the best QPR you can get! Rich flavors that are balanced out by a good core of acidity. A wine that stands on its own but can match well with food too! — 5 days ago

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

The one that started it all; I feel this wine is so underrated and sometimes even gets a bad rap due the commercial direction the brand has taken. All that aside, I truly believe the wine is worth every cent. The color is a nice deep ruby. The nose has deep bright cherry notes. The pallet is complex with tobacco, plum, leather and earth; a round mouthfeel and a proper finish. The winery may have taken a commercial direction but the vines remain the same and one can taste the Napa soul on every sip. — 9 days ago

Les Grèzes Sauvignon

Classic Loire Sauvignon that could be mistaken for a Sancerre right down to the herbaceous aromas and mineral kick. Fresh, dry and distinctively grown-up. O'Briens 12.95 bargain. — 9 days ago

Domaine Robert Gibourg

Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir 2015

Small red and black forest berries, cherry, hay, a bit of milky thing (jogurt?) and a tiny bit of heat. The palate is very well designed. A strong acid backbone, a good width, some nice red fruits all along, a good grip. Some tannins in the rear, creating a layer of asperity and adding a bit of complexity. Very long fruity finish, with a tangy twist. This seems to be still very young. It had been opened for a full hour before pouring and the bottle has been drank over a 4 hours span before this rating. — 16 days ago

G-18 Grenache 2018

This is a terrific, plain spoken Grenache that will complement a wide variety of meals. Nose shows hibiscus, sweet, plummy kirsch, and hint of flinty, stony minerality. Fruity, round, and balanced in the mouth. Very pure tasting fruit, decent acidity, and finish that, while not super complex, turns a little savory. — 13 days ago

Thanksgiving dinner outdoor. Was thinking about a chard for the white, but thought this one has the fresher fruit while enough structure for the ham and turkey.

Not a bad choice. The best SB value out there.

GSM Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2018

Body reminded me of Pinot Noir. We drank lightly chilled with dinner. Glass#2 better than one. Finish softens and lingers after it opens. This wine feels harsh and has a bite straight from the bottle. Pour a glass and wait... Juicy red berries. Floral on the nose. Earthy/musty finish. Texture is average, no wood. Good change of pace wine. — 10 days ago

Affinity Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

A blend of 76% Cab Sauv, 8% Cab Franc, 7% Merlot, 5% Malbec & 4% Petit Verdot, 18 months in 60% new French oak, deep Ruby, purple edges, with aromas of berry fruit, sweet herb and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, ripe blackberry and currants with notes of cacao and sweet herbs. Long finish, grippy ripe tannins ending with graphite and earthy mineral. Drink now & over next few years. — 2 days ago

Brut De Noirs Sparkling Blend 2002

This wine was built for aging. 2002, fresh as can be. Nice fruit, nice yeasty nose. Absolutely delightful. Rated the same 9.5 over four years ago. And we have a couple more in the cellar. 😀 — 7 days ago
