Pear skin and mineral aroma. Meyer lemon, green apple. Intense flavors persist. Phalz terroir I love — 7 months ago
A late release from 2014, kept on the lees longer and hit the market only in 2019. Aged in new Rousseau barrels.
Beautiful aromatic evolved nose, creamy, waxy with yellow peach and pink grapefruit, bergamot, but also a herby, savoury stony whiff. Complex, rich yet not sweet, very inviting. And it keeps evolving.
On the palate this is a very Burgundian Riesling, nice creamy mouthfeel, the wood adding a layer of richness yet the lemony acidity cuts through brilliantly and keeps the total bone dry & impeccably balanced.
Ripe yellow fruit, hint of woodland honey, a touch of toasted sesame. All the evolved Riesling cues, with a touch of opulence and w/o the slightly bitter note that sometimes lingers in aged bottles.
This is a very, very nice wine & quite serious, too! — 3 months ago
Veldig god vin med lite sukker. Fruktig men ikke så mye eple smak som jeg hadde håpt på — 5 months ago
Last time I had one of these was 4 years ago in November 2017. Similar tasting note without the petillance. A very good quaffing dry German Riesling (12.5%ABV). Slatey minerality with yellow peachy notes. Tasted another 18 weeks later on 5th May 2022. Nothing to write home about to be honest. Just a good dry German Riesling quaffer. Notes as above. 88 points. — 6 months ago
